Cold, dry and bright this Saturday morning in Donegal, with widespread frost and icy patches.

Cloud will thicken from the west through the day, with rain spreading eastwards through the late afternoon and evening, turning heavy in parts, and falling as sleet or wet snow for a time.

Afternoon highs of just 2 to 5. Winds will be mostly light southerly to begin, but they will turn rather windy later as fresh to strong and gusty southeasterly winds develop.

Rather windy with rain early tonight, along with falls of sleet and snow for a time. Fresh to strong and gusty southerly winds will ease mostly light to moderate southwesterly as clear spells and scattered showers follow from the west. Some fog patches will form too. Lowest temperatures of 0 to 4 degrees.

Scattered blustery showers tomorrow, Sunday, with some longer spells of rain for a time. The showers will be heavy at times with hail, isolated thunderstorms and spot flooding all possible. Turning breezy as well with moderate to fresh and gusty southwest to west winds developing. The best of the sunny spells will be in the afternoon. Highest temperatures of 6 to 8 or 9 degrees.
