An Garda Síochána have given traffic advice ahead of Donegal’s first McKenna Cup game against Derry on Sunday (throw-in 1.30pm).
Jim McGuinness’ men take on their neighbours in O’Donnell Park in what is a repeat of the final of the last instalment of the McKenna Cup in 2024, with limited parking available ahead of a game which a large attendance will be expected in Letterkenny.
Shuttle buses will be available for fans, and parking is limited only for pass holders. An Garda Síochána have also asked fans not to park at the Ballymacool estate.
“Parking at O'Donnell Park will be limited to those attending with relevant passes,” An Garda Síochána said.
“The area around the park is mainly residential with no parking available. There is limited disabled parking availability in the vicinity of the grounds.
“People attending the game from the town side of the grounds are encouraged to arrive early and to avail of parking within the town (town carparks etc.) and to walk to the grounds or to avail of the free shuttle bus, which will be available from Kernans Spar before the game.

“We appeal to all those who plan on attending to only park where it is legal and safe to do so.
“Do not park on footpaths at Ballymacool estate, on footpaths along the main road or park in any manner that might block access for emergency services, pedestrians or wheelchair users.
“Please follow directions given by Gardaí and stewards in the area. We hope that everyone has an enjoyable day and we wish both teams the best of luck.”
