Two men have been arrested this morning in connection with the fatal assault of a man in Cork that occurred in the early hours of Sunday, October 12.
A juvenile in his late teens and a man in his twenties are being detained at a Garda station in Cork.
The men have been detained under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act 1984, which allows suspects to be detained at a Garda station for a certain period for the investigation of an offence.
The deceased man has been named locally as Barry Daly, a father of four from the town of Doneraile, near Mallow in north Cork.

A post mortem examination of the deceased is due to take place at Cork University Hospital.
A senior investigating officer has been appointed to lead the investigation and a family liaison officer has been appointed to support the affected family.
An spokesperson for An Garda Síochána have stated that investigations are ongoing.
Gardaí are appealing for witnesses to contact them and are seeking any available camera footage, including dashcam recordings, from those who were in the vicinity of Doneraile village, Mallow, Co. Cork from midnight to 2 am Sunday, 12 October.
