The incident has been reported to gardaí

An electronic roadside sign has been vandalised on the Letterkenny to Lifford road.

The incident happened on Friday night when the variable message sign (VMS) was located at Whitecross in Raphoe.

An appeal has been made for information by Watson Hire, the company that owns the equipment. The company has reported the incident to gardaí.

“Did anyone driving on Letterkenny to Lifford road last night notice anyone at our VMS sign at Whitecross in Raphoe,” the company posted.

“This expensive piece of equipment was vandalised overnight. Gardaí have been notified but if anyone can help us, please PM me.”
