The incident is believed to have occurred at around 6pm near the bus stop located between the Station roundabout and the Oatfield roundabout on the Ramelton Road

Gardaí are appealing for sightings of a man on foot in the area, described as being in his early 60s, of stocky build, with grey/white hair. He was wearing a brown/beige jacket with a blue and white striped shirt underneath.

Gardaí are also appealing to motorists who were in the area or on that stretch of road with dash-cam footage between 5:40 pm and 6:15 pm to make the footage available. Additionally, they appeal to taxi drivers at the nearby rank with a dash-cam to get in touch.
