Two people have pleaded guilty to an incident at a flat in Letterkenny during which a man was attacked, falsely imprisoned and robbed.
Adeleke Adelani, 27, and Promise Osagie, appeared at Letterkenny Circuit Court where they both pleaded guilty to a range of charges.
The charges relate to an incident at an apartment at Fortwell, Lower Main Street in Letterkenny on July 11, 2022.
Adelani is charged that having entered a building as a trespasser that he did commit an arrestable offence, to wit theft contrary to Section 4 of the Criminal Justice (Theft and Fraud Offences) Act 2001 therein.
He is also charged with assault causing harm to Ravindranath Kolagotla and with stealing property, to wit an Xbox games console with two controllers and charger with a combined value of €588.99.
Adelani, of Riverside View, Lower Main Street, Letterkenny, pleaded guilty to all four charges.
His co-accused, Ms Promise Osagie, aged 22, also pleaded guilty to burglary at the same premises and also the falsely imprisonment of Ravindranath Kolagotla at the same location and on the same date.
She was also charged with possession of a stolen property namely an Xbox games console with two controllers and charger with a combined value of €588.99.
Ms Osagie, of Burnside Park, Lower Main Street, Letterkenny, pleaded guilty to all three charges put to her.
The court was told that neither accused has any relevant previous convictions.
Barrister for Adelani, Mr Sean McGee BL, asked for a probation and welfare report to be carried out for his client and asked for the case to be adjourned to the October sitting of the court for sentencing.
Barrister for Osagie, Mr Colm Smyth SC, also requested a probation and welfare report and for the case to be adjourned to October for sentencing.
Judge John Aylmer agreed to both requests.
