The story of Eamon McGee's life inside and outside of GAA will be screened this week.

For the Laochra Gael series finale, TG4 presents the compelling story of McGee, one of the country’s most formidable defenders from Gaoth Dobhair.

Known for his tenacity and strength, McGee was a cornerstone of Donegal’s backline. However, his journey has been far from straightforward, as he battled personal struggles that shaped his life both on and off the pitch.

Football provided an escape, and through sheer determination, he reclaimed his best form—culminating in Donegal’s historic All-Ireland victory in 2012 under Jim McGuinness’ leadership.

Contributors include Eamon's brother Neil McGee; mother Anne McEleney; former teammate Rory Kavanagh; former manager Brian McEniff; partner Joanne Gillen; opponents Stephen O’Neill and Steven McDonnell; local journalists Kieran Cunningham and Damien Ó Dónaill and children Daisy, Luca and Evie McGee.
