Sean M O'Brien has been a leading figure in the labour movement for decades
Donegal County Council will officially welcome Sean M O'Brien, President of the International Brotherhood of Teamsters, to the Council Chamber in Lifford on Tuesday, March 11.
During his visit, Mr O'Brien will be received by Cathaoirleach of Donegal County Council, Cllr Niamh Kennedy, Chief Executive John G McLoughlin, and Leas-Cathaoirleach of the Inishowen Municipal District, Cllr Terry Crossan, at a special reception.
Sean M O'Brien has been a leading figure in the labour movement for decades and currently serves as the President of the International Brotherhood of Teamsters, one of the largest and most influential trade unions in the United States.

Known for his strong advocacy for workers’ rights, he has been a prominent voice for fairness and justice in the workplace.
Mr O'Brien's visit is particularly significant, as he has deep familial ties to the Inishowen area of Donegal, further strengthening the connection between the O'Brien family and the region.
Cathaoirleach Cllr. Niamh Kennedy said: "It is a privilege to welcome Sean M. O'Brien to Donegal County Council. His commitment to advocating for workers’ rights and his strong ties to this community make this visit even more special. The reception will take place at 3pm on Tuesday, March 11.
