All designated gritting routes in Donegal will be gritted from 8pm on Thursday with temperatures set to drop.

A status yellow warning for low temperatures and ice has been issued for widespread frost and ice with temperatures to fall to -3 degrees or below in many areas.

Donegal County Council's interactive map can be checked for gritting routes and the council is warning road users to assume that no road is ice-free.
