Fresh planning permission application for Letterkenny apartments

The site of the proposed development

A fresh planning application has been submitted for 15 new apartments on a site in Letterkenny.

Developer PJ McDermott withdrew a previous application in respect of the site at College Farm Road and Glencar Road.

The new application seeks permission for the construction of two residential buildings.

One of the proposed buildings would contain six two-bedroom apartments while the other building would have nine two-bedroom apartments. The application provides for onsite car parking and all ancillary works and service connections.

The buildings would each be three-storeys and the area in question is a 0.22-hectare site.

In 2023, Mr McDermott withdrew an application for four two-storey buildings on the site.

That followed a raft of objections from existing residents in the area, many of whom were concerned at overdevelopment and traffic congestion.
