Foróige express their gratitude to their 'incredible volunteers' in Donegal

Foróige youth clubs in Donegal have benefited from the efforts of over 130 volunteers who collectively contributed more than 8000 hours of service this year

Foróige, Ireland’s leading youth organisation, wishes to express a huge thank you to the incredible volunteers who generously dedicate their time and energy to Foróige clubs across Donegal.

The unwavering commitment of these volunteers has been instrumental in creating safe, inclusive, and empowering spaces for young people to thrive. From organizing activities and events to mentoring and supporting young members, their contributions have made a profound difference in the lives of Donegal’s youth.

"Volunteers are the cornerstone of our work in Donegal," said Susan Cleary, Regional Youth Officer for Donegal. "Their dedication not only enriches the lives of the young people they support but also strengthens our communities. We cannot thank them enough for the time, effort, and heart they bring to their roles."

Over the past year, Foróige youth clubs in Donegal have benefited from the efforts of over 130 volunteers who collectively contributed more than 8000 hours of service. Their work has empowered young people through activities like Citizenship Projects, Leadership programmes, First Aid, Creative arts workshops and Interclub events to name but a few.

One volunteer, shared their thoughts: "Volunteering with Foróige has allowed me to not only witness, but play a part in the development of some of our most talented local young people. It's been amazing to see their confidence grow through their interactions with each other, as well as their wider community. I am so proud to have been part of their development, particularly their realisation of how they as individuals can contribute to enriching and improving the lives of others within their communities, even through the smallest of gestures and the giving of their time."

Foróige is always looking for compassionate and dedicated people to join its network of volunteers. Those interested in supporting Donegal youth clubs or learning more about volunteering opportunities can visit www.foroige.ie or contact susan.cleary@foroige.ie.
