Sympathy extended to families and friends of two men killed in  Liscooley crash

Ryan Glenn and Gordy Galbraith were both from Castlederg, Co Tyrone

The two men who tragically died in a two-car collision on Friday night were named as Ryan Glenn, 25, and Gordy Galbraith, who was in his 30s

Both men from Castlederg, Co Tyrone, were killed in the collision involving two vehicles that occurred on the N15 at Liscooley at approximately 10pm on Friday.

“We woke to the most devastating news this morning that last night's collision in Liscooley has resulted in the deaths of two men,” Local councillor Doherty of Sinn Féin posted on Saturday. “The thoughts and prayers of everybody in our area are with the families involved and with those who were injured.”

Life After, a charity delivering support services to family and friends of those who have lost their lives through a road traffic collision, posted: “We are saddened to hear of the passing of Ryan Glenn and Gordy Galbraith from Castlederg after they were involved in an RTC in County Donegal.

"Could everyone please keep the Glenn and Galbraith families in your thoughts and prayers as they come to terms with this traumatic event. We at Life After offer our deepest sympathies to both families and can assure them that support and assistance can be provided if or when required.”

Sinn Féin MLA for West Tyrone Maolíosa McHugh said: “There is shock at the deaths of two men from Castlederg and the injury of other people in the tragedy at Liscooley involving two vehicles.

“People in the area were devastated to wake up to this tragic news. I wish to extend my deepest sympathy to the families of Gordy Galbraith and of Ryan Glenn who have been plunged into grief as a result of this tragedy. My thoughts and prayers are also with the three people injured and I hope they make a full recovery. I want to commend the emergency services who attended and assisted at the scene of the terrible tragedy.”

An Garda Siochana confirmed a woman and a man (both 70s) from the second vehicle were taken to Letterkenny Hospital for treatment of serious injuries. A second woman (30s) was treated for non-life threatening injuries.

Gardaí are appealing for any witnesses to this collision to come forward. Gardaí are also appealing for any road users who may have camera footage (including dash-cam) who were travelling in the area at the time of the collision to make this footage available to Gardaí.
