Donegal Association Dublin members with Moya Brennan, Donegal Person of the Year 2023
The Donegal Association is inviting nominations for Donegal Person of the Year 2024.
Each year, someone who has made a meaningful contribution to Donegal is honoured by the associations. The title is currently held by Moya Brennan, with past winners including Noel Cunningham, the people of Creeslough, Jim McGuinness, Shay Given and Moya Doherty.
The closing date for receipt of nominations is November 30.
Siobhan Shovlin of the Donegal Association Dublin said: “Any individual or any group may nominate a person – the main criteria being that the person nominated should be from Donegal and have made a significant contribution to the promotion of the county at local, national or international level. “Nominations may set out the reasons for the nomination and may include supporting documentation and endorsements from individuals and groups.”
Anyone who wishes to make a nominate can do so via www.donegalassociation.ie, by writing to The Donegal Association, 33 Upper Merrion Street, Dublin 2 or emailing info@donegalassociation.ie
Meanwhile, anyone in Dublin who is interested in getting involved with the association is welcome to attend the following upcoming events.
On Sunday, November 10, the Donegal Association will hold its Annual Mass of Remembrance in the Bonnington Hotel, Drumcondra at 6pm. Deceased members and friends of the association will be remembered on the night. Everyone is welcome to attend.
This will be followed at 8pm by the association’s AGM. New members are welcome.
