Garda appeal after five drivers in Letterkenny arrested for drink or drug-driving

Letterkenny gardaí arrest six people in 48 hours on suspicion of drug driving

Gardai have issued a fresh plea to motorists after five drivers were arrrested on suspicion of drug-driving or drink-driving in the Letterkenny area over the weekend.

Letterkenny Roads Policing Unit arrested a driver on suspicion of drink-driving and another on suspicion of drug-driving on Saturday night.

On Sunday night, officers from the Letterkenny Roads Policing Unit arrested three drivers on suspicion of drug driving.

A Garda spokesperson said: “If you drive under while under the influence of alcohol or drugs, you are putting your life and the lives of other road users at risk. It is that simple.

“Call a taxi. Call a family member or friend. There is always a way to get home, a safe way. Do the right thing.”
