The woman who died in a road traffic collision in St Johnston on Friday afternoon has been named as Patricia McBrearty.
Aged in her early 80s, she died after being struck by a lorry just yards from her home on Church Street in the village at around 2pm.
She is the fourth person to die on Donegal’s roads in less than a week and the 12th this year.
It is understood that she was struck by a refuse lorry and the Health and Safety Authority (HSA) has been notified.
The wife of the late Paddy, she is survived by her children Brian, Tina and Susie, grandchildren Cara, Hannah, PJ and Eimear and her sister Anne Strain.
Originally from Fahan, she was predeceased by her sister Elizabeth Kavanagh. Funeral arrangements are yet to be confirmed.
Gardaí are appealing for witnesses to the collision to come forward. Any road users who have camera footage, including dash-cam,and were in the vicinity of St Johnston at the time of the collision are asked to make the footage available to investigating gardaí.
