Homeland Letterkenny are holding a TAMS III Information Day (Targeted Agricultural Modernisation Scheme) on Thursday, August 22 from 12pm to 8pm.
The Homeland team are looking forward to informing farmers of eligible items available under the scheme and the improvements that can be made to their holding.
40% grants are available over a wide variety of items, with a 60% grant available under the Tams III scheme to young farmers and female farmers. The Tams III Grant scheme includes funds to assist with excellent animal welfare, such as improvements to animal housing like calving pens, calf creep areas and bull pens. Calf rearing equipment such as automatic calf feeders are also eligible under the scheme with 40% grant aid available.
Sheep fencing and gateways are included also with fencing posts, sheep netting and barb all coming under the scheme.
Mobile sheep equipment falls under the farm safety list of eligible items. This includes mobile sheep handling units with penning up to 75 meters, lamb weighing scales and sheep turnover crates. Fixed sheep handling units are also eligible under the scheme.
Mobile cattle crush units, cattle head scoops, leg hoists, cattle weighing scales and calf dehorning crates will also be available to view.
