Drugs, cash and an air pistol which were seized during the raid
Over €2,400 worth of cannabis, a quantity of cash and an air pistol were seized by gardai in Letterkenny.
One man who was arrested during the raid of a premises has been released without charge.
Detectives from the Donegal Divisional Drugs Unit swooped on the house. The raid was carried out as part of Operation Tara on Tuesday last, July 30.
Officers seized €2,440 of suspected cannabis, €1,315 cash, an air pistol, and drugs paraphernalia in thje operation.
The drugs seized will now be sent to Forensic Science Ireland to undergo analysis.
“Investigations are ongoing,” a Garda spokesperson said.
“Gardaí are appealing for anyone who has information in relation to the sale and supply of controlled substances in Co. Donegal or the border region, to contact the Donegal Divisional Drugs Unit on 074 916 7100, the Garda Confidential Line on 1800 666 111 or any Garda Station.”
Operation Tara, an enhanced national anti-drugs strategy commenced in July 2021.
The focus of Operation Tara is to disrupt, dismantle and prosecute drug trafficking networks, at all levels, international, national, and local, involved in the importation, distribution, cultivation, production and local sale and supply of controlled drugs.
