Margaret McGinley, Downings

The death has occurred at the Donegal Hospice of Margaret McGinley, Glebe, Downings. Sadly missed by her loving husband Michael daughter Maura, grandchildren, sister and brothers.

Margaret is predeceased by her son Donnchadh and sister Mary. Her remains are reposing at her late residence.

Funeral from there today Wednesday going to the Church of St. John the Baptist, Carrigart for Requiem mass at 1pm followed by interment in the adjoining cemetery. Family time from 10pm to11 am and on the morning of the funeral.

Mary McGowan (née McGoey), Kinlough

The death has occurred of Mary McGowan (nee McGoey), No. 3 New Houses, Kinlough and formerly of Augharooskey, Kinlough, Co. Leitrim and Raspberry Hill, Ballintrillick, Co. Sligo. June 4 2024, peacefully at Sligo University Hospital.

Beloved wife of the late Bernie (Bernard) McGowan, daughter of the late Matthew and Brigid McGoey and sister of the late Charles and Patrick. Deeply regretted and will be sadly missed by her nieces, nephew, grandnieces, grandnephews and all her relatives, neighbours and close friends.

Reposing at her late residence, No. 3 New Houses, Kinlough on Wednesday, June 5, from 3pm to 6pm followed by removal to St. Aidan's Church, Kinlough to arrive for 7pm reception prayers. Mass of the Resurrection on Thursday morning, June 6, at 11am in St. Aidan's Church, burial afterwards in St. Aidan's Cemetery, Kinlough.

Family flowers only please, donations in memory of Mary to The Irish Wheelchair Association care of donation box at House/Church or Breslin's Funeral Home, Bundoran.

Frances O'Donnell (née McElroy), Donegal Town

The death has occurred of Frances O’Donnell (née McElroy, Strabane) Drumlonagher, Donegal Town peacefully in Aras Mhic Shuibhne Nursing Home, Mullanasole, Laghey, surrounded by her loving son Adrian and extended family.

Predeceased by her loving husband Eamonn and her son John.

Frances’s remains will repose in the Tír Conaíll Funeral Home, Donegal Town, F94FX3A from 3pm until 9pm Wednesday.

Removal from Tír Conaíll Funeral Home, Donegal Town, F94FX3A on Thursday morning at 10.30am for Funeral mass at 11am in St Patrick’s Church, Donegal Town with burial afterwards in Clar cemetery.

Family flowers only donations if so desired to St Vincent De Paul, Donegal Town.

Frankie Cavanagh, Moville

The peaceful death has occurred of Frankie Cavanagh, Ballynally Lane, Moville, F93H30V.

Predeceased by his loving wife Sally and his son Paddy RIP. Beloved father of Adrian, Jackie, Mark and Danny.

Sadly missed by his daughter-in-law Charlotte, grandchildren, great-grandchildren extended family, friends and neighbours.

Frankie's remains are reposing at his home where you are welcome to pay your respects.

Funeral from there Thursday June 6 at 10.30am going to Saint Pius X Church, Moville for requiem mass at 11am followed by burial afterwards in Drung Cemetery.

Family flowers only please, donations in lieu if desired to the RNLI c/o any family member.

Anne Sweeney (née Dunne), Letterbarrow

The death has occurred of Anne Sweeney (née Dunne), Lettertreane, Letterbarrow. Unexpectedly but peacefully, surrounded by her family in Letterkenny University Hospital. Lovingly missed by her husband Frank, daughters Susan (John), Michelle, Marie and Sharon (Cormac), brother Tony, grandchildren Connor, Aaron, Caoimhe, Jack, Rebekah, Callum and Owen, great grandchildren and extended family.

Remains reposing at Gallagher's Funeral Home, Station Road, Mountcharles last evening. Funeral mass on Wednesday, June 5 at 1pm, in the Church of the Holy Redeemer, Drimarone, with burial afterwards in the local cemetery.

Cathy Gallen, Aghyaran / Stranorlar

The death has occurred of Cathy Gallen, Ardarver, Aghyaran, Tyrone / Stranorlar.

Peacefully, June 2, 2024 R.I.P. Mother of Odhrán and Caitlín, cherished daughter of Tommy and Margaret (née Kelly) and sister of Jason (Caroline), Alison (P.J.) Richard (Bernie) and the late Lisa.

Reposing at the home of her mother Margaret, 21, Churchtown Park, Castlederg BT81 7DT. Funeral from there on Wednesday 5th June at 11.20am for Requiem Mass at 12 noon in St. Patrick's Church, Aghyaran. Interment afterwards in the adjoining Churchyard.

The Mass can be viewed via the parish webcam.  Family time please from 11pm to 11am and on the morning of the funeral.

Seán Denis Maher, Meath and Bayview, Inishowen

The death has taken place of Seán Maher, Tailteann Close, Navan, County Meath, and formerly of Bayview, Inishowen.

Seán passed away after a long illness on May 28 in the presence of his loving family and in the kind care of the nursing staff at St Vincent’s Hospital, Dublin.

Sadly missed by his mum Cecilia Quinn, his father Michael Maher, brothers Mike, Robert, Dillon, Patrick and Liam, his sisters MollyKate and Abbey, and extended family and friends. 

A ceremony of celebration of Seán’s life has taken place in private in accordance with Seán’s wishes.

Phil Kelly, Wexford and Ballyshannon

The death has taken place Phil Kelly, Parklands, Wexford Town, and formerly Taghmon, Wexford and Ballyshannon. 

Beloved husband of the late Bernadette and loving father of Marcella, Dolores, Paul and Fidelma. Sadly missed by son-in-law Jeffrey, Tom and grandchildren Marcus and Aoife, his loving family, relatives and friends.

His remains reposed in his residence until removal to Church of the Immaculate Conception, Rowe Street, for Mass last evening.

Funeral will arrive to St. Joseph’s Church, The Rock, Ballyshannon, on Wednesday at 7pm.

Funeral Mass on Thursday at 11am, burial afterwards in the adjoining cemetery. Family flowers only. Donations in lieu to Irish Cancer Society at www.cancer.ie

Bríd Fitzpatrick, Malinbeg

The death has occurred of Brı́d Fitzpatrick, née Murrin, of Malinbeg, Glencolmcille, and Erith, Kent. She passed away on March 28 at Darent Valley Hospital, Dartford, Kent.

Beloved wife to Bernard, much loved mother to Paul, Anna (Thomas) and Susan (Tim), missed by all her grandchildren, Joseph, Libby, Moya, Áine, Conal and Gearóid, her sister Mary, her loving cousins Carmel and Geraldine, Mark her nephew and all of her many family and friends.

Her final remains shall be taken to St Columba's Church, Cashel, Glencolmcille, County Donegal on Thursday for Funeral Mass at 11am with burial afterwards in the adjoining cemetery. The Funeral Mass will be streamed at https://mcn.live/Camera/st-columbas-glencolmcille

Teresa McGeady, Derrybeg

The death has taken place in Áras Ghaoth Dobhair of Teresa 'Tim' Mc Geady, née Boyle, Ard na gCeapairi, Derrybeg.

Predeceased by her husband James, brothers and sisters, she is sadly missed by her son Hugh, daughter Bernadette, daughter-in-law Carmel, son-in-law Cathal, grandchildren Rogan, Ryan, Lorcan and Cian, sister Margaret Mellet and extended family and friends.

Her remains repose at her daughter Bernadette's house in Magheraclogher.  House private to family only on the morning of the funeral. 

Funeral Mass on Wednesday at 11am in St Mary's Church, Derrybeg, interment afterwards in Magheragallon Cemetery. The Funeral Mass can be viewed live on Kieran Roarty Funeral Director's Facebook page.

John Wasson, Greencastle and Derry

The peaceful death has taken place of John Wasson, Balleighan East, Greencastle F93 TOA8 and formerly of Derry.

Beloved partner of Nuala, much loved father of Sandra, Jayne and Richard, loving grandfather of Harry and Emma. Deeply regretted and sadly missed by his brothers Lowry and Robert, sons-in-law Michael and Simon, wider family circle, friends and neighbours.

Remains reposing at his home.  Family time on the morning of the funeral.

Funeral from there at 1.20pm on Wednesday for 2pm Funeral Service in Moville Presbyterian Church followed by burial in Ballybrack Graveyard.

Family flowers only please, donations in lieu, if desired, to the RNLI.

Henry Bradley, Annagry and Killygordon

The death has taken place of Henry Bradley, Annagry East and formerly The Cross Post Office, Killygordon.

Sadly missed by loving wife Mary, sisters Marie and Ann, and brother Michael, sister-in-law Bríd and family, and the extended Bradley family. Henry is predeceased by his parents Patrick and Ruby and his brothers James, Eugene and Patsy.

His remains reposed at McGlynn's Funeral Home, Dungloe before private removal to his home in Annagry East. House strictly private to family only.

Funeral on Wednesday in St Mary’s Star of the Sea, Annagry, at 11am, followed by burial in the adjoining graveyard.

Family flowers only please, donations in lieu, if desired, to the Dungloe Community Hospital Comfort Fund.

Cecelia Callaghan, Ballybofey

The death has taken place peacefully, at Letterkenny University Hospital, surrounded by her loving family, of Cecelia Callaghan, Kinletter, Ballybofey.

Beloved wife of the late Edward and much loved mother of Julia Anna (Byrne), Imelda (Ryan) Edwina (Gilbert), cherished sister of Sean, and the late, Fr.Colm, Hugo, Mollie, Eugene, Kate, Julianna, Peadar and Imelda. Deeply regretted and very sadly missed by her daughters, brother, grandchildren, sons-in-law, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nephews, nieces, extended family neighbours and friends.

Family friends and neighbours were welcome at her home last evening. Family time at all other times and on the morning of the funeral please. 

Funeral leaving from her home on Wednesday at 10.20am for Requiem Mass in St Mary’s Church, Sessiaghoneill, at 11am. Interment will take place afterwards in the adjoining churchyard. he Requiem Mass will be streamed live via the Parish youtube channel at https://youtube.com/@killygordonparish
