Donegal death and Funeral notices, May 29, 2024

The following deaths have taken place:

- Clare O'Sullivan, Carndonagh

- Maryann McCafferty (née Whoriskey), Gortahork

- Jane Ann Wegner (née McEmerson), Buncrana

- John Crumlish, Moville

- Eddie McFadden, Ballyshannon and Kerrykeel

- Sr Eileen Friel, Mountcharles and USA

Clare O'Sullivan, Carndonagh

The tragic death of Clare O’Sullivan of Magheramore, Carndonagh, daughter of the late Nelly and Mick O’Sullivan, has occurred in Spain.

She is survived by her brothers, Collins and Tom, sister-in-law Karen, nephews Conor, Thomas, and Jack, and niece Laura.

Clare’s ashes will be returning from Spain post-ceremony.

A funeral mass will be held on Friday, May 31, at 11am in the Sacred Heart Church, Carndonagh, followed by interment in the adjoining cemetery.

Maryann McCafferty (née Whoriskey), Gortahork

The death has occurred of Maryann McCafferty (née Whoriskey), Baltoney, Gortahork, F92YK40. Survived by her husband Stephen, daughter Stephaine, her parents Neilly and Susan, her sister Kathleen and husband Seamus, brothers Dominic and his wife Sharon, Donald and his wife Portia and Micheal and his partner Anne, in laws, nieces, nephews and a wide circle of family and friends.

Wake continues with rosary this evening at 8pm. House private until 11am today, after Rosary at 8pm and on the morning of the funeral.

Funeral from there on Thursday, May 30, for 11am Requiem Mass in Christ the King Church, Gortahork F92 DP86, with burial afterwards in the adjacent cemetery.

Jane Ann Wegner (née McEmerson), Buncrana

The death has occurred of Jane Ann Wegner (née McEmerson), 21 St Egney's Terrace, Buncrana.

Her remains are reposing at her late residence.

Leaving there on Thursday May 30 at 10.15am for 11am Reqieum Mass in St Mary's Chapel, Cockhill with burial in adjoining graveyard. Link: https://www.churchservices.tv/cockhill

John Crumlish, Moville

The death has occurred of John Crumlish, Market Square, Moville, F93 DWX2.

Beloved husband of Carmel. Much loved father of Sean, Clodagh, Ronan and Orla. Devoted grandfather to all his grandchildren. Predeceased by his sister Freda and brother Kenneth.

Deeply regretted and sadly missed by his sisters Theresa and Ethna, daughters in law Wendy and Tricia and son in law Colm, nieces and nephews, wider family circle, friends and neighbours.

John's remains are now reposing at his home where you are all welcome to pay your respescts.

Funeral from there on Thursday morning at 10.30am for 11am funeral Mass in St Pius X Church, Moville, followed by burial after in Ballybrack Graveyard. Funeral Mass can be viewed live on www.movilleparish.com

Family flowers only please, donations in lieu, if desired, to the Donegal Hospice c/o any family member. Family time from 11pm to 11am, please.

Eddie McFadden, Ballyshannon and Kerrykeel

The sudden death has occurred of Eddie McFadden, The Mall, Ballyshannon and formerly of Kerrykeel.

Predeceased by his wife Ann, his sons Patrick and Shaun, he is sadly missed by his children Elaine (John), Breege, Joanne (Gavin), Enda (Aveen) and Adrian, his grandchildren Emma, Abigail, Jamie and Jack, brothers Patrick and John, sisters Marian and Eileen, brothers in-law, sisters in-law, nephews, nieces and all extended family and friends. Predeceased his father Pat and mother Ellen and brother Hugh.

His remains are reposing at his late residence Wednesday from 12pm to 9pm. House Private on the morning of the funeral please.

Removal on Thursday morning going to St Patrick's Church, Ballyshannon for 11am Funeral Mass with burial afterwards in the Abbey Cemetery. Eddie's funeral cortege will travel to the Abbey Cemetery via The Mall, Ballyshannon. Mass can be viewed on https://www.churchservices.tv/stpatricksballyshannon

Sr Eileen Friel, Mountcharles and USA

The death has taken place of Sr Eileen Friel, Glencoagh, Mountcharles and San Antonio, Texas. She was a member of the Sisters of Charity of the Incarnate Word.

Predeceased by her parents Conn and MaryAnn, her siblings Conn, Cathal and Marion; loved and deeply missed by her brothers, Liam, Dan, Eamon, sister-in-law Anne, nieces, nephews, her religious sisters and friends. She will be remembered with love by her religious community and as a wonderful sister and Aunt by her family.

Burial will take place in San Antonio, Texas on Friday.
