Gardai probe assault on Letterkenny Main Street

The victim was standing chatting to his friends on the street when he was approached by an unknown man who had come running down the street. He received a blow to the face and was knocked to the ground

A man was assaulted in the early hours of Sunday morning on Main Street, Letterkenny.

Gardai have launched an investigation into the incident, which occured at Upper Main Street between 3.10am and 3.15am on May 19.

A man was standing chatting to his friends on the street when he was approached by an unknown man who had come running down the street.

The man received a blow to the face and was knocked to the ground.

A Garda spokesperson said: We appeal to anybody who may have witnessed the incident to make contact with Gardaí in Letterkenny on 074-9167100. Any relevant information can be passed to Gardaí in Letterkenny or to the Garda Confidential line on 1800 666 111.”
