The late Cameron White
Tributes have been pouring in following the death of Cameron White after a brave battle with illness.
The 13-year-old was diagnosed with leukaemia in March and he passed away on Friday at Crumlin Children's Hospital.
Cameron, late of Roughan, Newmills, Letterkenny, was a student at the Royal and Prior Comprehensive School in Raphoe.
A talented sportsman, he had played for Raphoe Hockey Club and was also a popular figure at Raphoe Badminton Club.
“There is no doubt that everyone is in deep shock and completely devastated,” Raphoe Badminton Club said.
“We will miss Cameron very much at the club. He came in every night with a smile on his face and never left without a thank you. He was a man that always represented his club with pride and we were so proud of him.”
Raphoe Hockey Club said: “We are absolutely devastated. Cameron was that role model kid that everyone loved.
“He was a coach's dream as his manner, attitude and passion was on another level. We will miss him so much.”
The son of Robert and Vienna White, Cameron fought bravely over the past few weeks and people across Donegal lent their support.
His funeral service will take place in Conwal Parish Church on Tuesday, May 14, at 2pm with burial afterwards in Gortlee Cemetery.
