A Milford man has pleaded guilty to careless driving causing serious bodily harm.

Ryan Flood appeared at Letterkenny Circuit Court where he pleaded guilty to the charge.

Flood, of Labadough, Milford, was charged with Careless Driving contrary to Section 52 (1) and (2) (a) of the Road Traffic Act as amended by Section 4 of the Road Traffic (No 2) Act.

The 24- year-old was charged that on October 24, 2022, at High Road, Letterkenny, he did drive a mechanically propelled vehicle without due care and attention thereby causing serious bodily harm to another person, namely Amie Thompson.

The accused man's barrister, Mr Peter Nolan, BL, told the court that his client has no previous convictions.

Mr Nolan said that given the nature of the offence and the facts when outlined to the court, he was hopeful that a Probation and Welfare report would be helpful and that community service may feature.

Judge John Aylmer granted the application for a probation and welfare report.

He adjourned the case for sentencing until the October sessions of the court.
