Nancy Cullen (née Burke), Newtowncunningham

The peaceful death has taken place at Letterkenny University Hospital on Wednesday May 8 2024 of Nancy Cullen neé Burke, The Bungalow, Main Street, Newtowncunningham, F93 E36H.

Deeply missed by her loving son’s James (Mary), Paul, Shaun and Brian (Fiona), daughters Bernie McHugh (Seamus) and Teresa Tourish (James), sisters Mamie Tourish (Moneyhaughley, Manorcunningham), Veronica Gallagher (McNeely Villas, Letterkenny), brother William Burke (Geraldine) (Veagh, Manorcunningham), grandchildren, great-grandchildren, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews and a wide circle of family, friends and neighbours.

Nancy is pre-deceased by her husband Vivian in 2021 and grandson Mark Cullen in 2020.

Nancy’s remains are reposing at her late residence on Wednesday, May 8, from 7pm until 10pm and on Thursday, May 9, from 12 noon until 10pm with Rosary both nights at 9pm. 

Funeral from there on Friday, May 10, at 10.30am going to All Saints Church, Newtowncunningham for 11am Requiem Mass which can be viewed on https://www.newtownkilleaparish.com. Interment afterwards in the adjoining Churchyard.

Vincent Keown, Ballyshannon

The death has occurred of Vincent Keown, Castle St., Ballyshannon, Co. Donegal. Remains will repose at Gilmartin's Funeral Home, Main St., Kinlough, on Thursday from 7pm to 8.30pm. Remains will arrive in St Patrick's Church, Ballyshannon, on Friday for 11am Funeral Mass followed by interment in the Abbey Cemetery, Ballyshannon. House strictly private please.

Deeply regretted by his loving wife Lena, son Damien, daughters Anne, Regina and Nuala, grandchildren Niall, Emma, Laura, Eimear, Micheál, Tomás, brother Frank and sisters-in-law, Rosie, Nancy, Celine, Margaret, family circle and friends.

Nora McBride, née Paid Harlaigh, Gweedore

The death has taken place in Letterkenny University Hospital of Nora (Phaidí Harlaigh) McBride, Middletown, Gweedore. Predeceased by her parents Paddy and Anna, Brothers; John, Paddy, Donal and Charlie, Sisters; Biddy, Gracie, Peggy and Kitty. Sadly missed by extended family, friends and neighbours.

Nora’s remains will repose at her home this evening (Wednesday) from 8pm. Rosary nightly at 8pm. House private after the rosary until 12pm tomorrow and on the morning of the Funeral. Funeral Mass will take place on Friday, May 10, at 11am in St. Mary’s Church, Derrybeg, interment afterwards in Magheragallon Cemetery.

Christina Byrne, Carrick

The death has occurred of Christina Byrne, Meenavean, Carrick, County Donegal peacefully at her home surrounded by her loving family. Beloved wife of Paddy, much loved mother to Sharon, Louise and Pauric. Predeceased by her father Patrick, Christina will be sadly missed by her mother Bríd, sisters Josephine and Claire, her brothers Seamus, Patrick and John, her aunts, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces and nephews and a large circle of relatives, friends and neighbours.

Christina will be reposing at her late residence from 4pm this evening (Wednesday May 8) until 10pm and from 2pm tomorrow (Thursday May 9) until 10pm. Rosary on both nights at 9pm. House is private to family at all other times and on the morning of the funeral.

Removal from her late residence on Friday to arrive at to St Columba's Church Carrick for Funeral Mass at 12 noon with burial afterwards in the adjoining cemetery.

Mickey (Jock) McKinney, Ballyshannon

The death has occurred of Mickey McKinney, Known as Jock, 17 Saimer Drive, Ballyshannon, Co. Donegal. Peacefully at Sligo University Hospital surrounded by his loving family.

Mari McGee (née Doherty), Fahan

The death has occurred of Mari McGee (née Doherty), Cois Na Mara, Fahan, peacefully at the Royal Victoria Hospital, Belfast, surrounded by her loving family on May 6 2024.

Beloved wife of Jimmy. Devoted mammy of Elisa, Kerry, Jamie and Gemma. A much loved mother-in-law of Gary, Jeff and Richard. Loving granny of Shannon, Evan, Lottie, Caleb, Greta and Reeny.

Deeply regretted and sadly missed by all of her brothers, sisters, wider family circle and friends.

Mari’s remains will be reposing at her late family residence.

Funeral leaving from there on Friday May 10 at 9.20am for 10am Requiem Mass in St. Mura's Parish Church, Fahan.

Burial will take place immediately afterwards in the adjoining Cemetery. Wake house will be private from 9pm until 11am.

Peter Ward, Mountcharles

The death has occurred of Peter Ward, Drumkeelan, Mountcharles.

Aged 92 years. Predeceased by his brothers & sisters, brothers-in-law & sisters-in-law; Margaret Mc Grath (Denis), Anna Mc Garrigle (Joe), Mickey Ward (Margaret), Bridie Quinn (Jim), Roselean Dunham (Bob) & Patsy Ward. Sadly missed by his sister-in-law Marlene, his nieces & nephews, and all the extended family.

His remains will repose at the residence of his niece, Karen Ward, Drumkeelan, Mountcharles (Eircode: F94 A264) on Wednesday May 8 and Thursday May 9 from 2pm until 9pm.

House private at all other times please. Removal from there on Friday May 10, going to the Church of the Sacred Heart, Mountcharles for 11am funeral mass, with interment afterwards in Frosses Churchyard.

Marie Peoples (née Russell), Kilmacrennan

The death has occurred of Marie Peoples, (née Russell), 2 Hillview, Kilmacrennan, F92 EK2E  and formely 18 Derryveagh Avenue, Letterkenny.

Beloved wife of Denis. Much loved mother to her children DJ and Stephen. Sadly missed by her husband, sons, her parents Drew and Molly Russell; sisters Serena and Leona, brothers, Andrew and John, sister-in-laws Annmarie and Aisling and mother-in-law Mary Peoples.

Marie's remains reposing at her home  until removal Thursday morning for 11am Requiem Mass in St. Columba's Church, Kilmacrennan. Private Cremation in Lakelands Crematorium, Cavan.

Leo McClenaghan, Culdaff

The peaceful death has taken place at the Foyle Hospice of Leo McClenaghan, Dunross, Culdaff, F93 F66W.

Beloved husband of Mary Jo; much loved Brother of Veronica and predeceased by his sister Mary, brother Eugene and nephew Gavin Kelly. Deeply regretted and sadly missed by his sister-in-law, sister Margaret Ruddy, Collooney, Sligo and brother-in-law Neil Ruddy, his nieces and nephews, wider family circle, friends and neighbours.

Funeral from his home at 10.30am on Thursday for 11am Funeral Mass in St Mary's Church, Bocan, followed by burial in the adjoining graveyard. Funeral Mass can be viewed live on www.culdaffparish.com

Rosemarie McNamee, Letterkenny

The death has taken place of Rosemarie McNamee, 8 Ashbrook, Letterkenny, daughter of Eunan and Oonagh McNamee.

The death has taken place unexpectedly of Fiona Gallagher, née Wilson, Drimarone, Letterbarrow, F94H2V9.

Predeceased by her father, George, she is sadly missed by her husband William, son Stephen, daughter Sinéad, son-in-law Matthew, mother Ann, sister Lorna, brothers Gene, Kurtis and Seoirse, mother-in-law Susie, sisters-in-law Eilis and Ola, nieces Leah, Amy and Mackenzie, nephews Ethan, Adam and Geordan, aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

Reposing at her late residence, on Wednesday from 12 noon until 9pm. House private at all other times please.

Removal from there on Thursday going to the Church of the Sacred Heart, Mountcharles for 11am funeral mass, with interment afterwards in the adjoining churchyard.

Barry Mc Laughlin, Donegal Town

The death has occurred of Barry Mc Laughlin of Luton, Bedfordshire, England and formerly of Clar, Donegal Town. Barry passed away suddenly on April 21 in the L&D Hospital, Luton.

Predeceased by his father James, he is sadly missed by his children, Chantelle and Danny, his mother Geraldine, sisters Siobhan (Eamonn) Arlene (Jay) and brothers Seamus and Sean (Melanie), nieces and nephews and extended family.

Michael Gallagher, Ballyshannon and Birmingham

The death has occurred of Michael Gallagher, Birmingham and formerly of 31 Cluain Barron, Ballyshanonn.

Predeceased by his parents Mickey and Dolly, his wife Carmel, son Richard, his brothers Seamus, Jackie, Eugene, sisters Peggy, Anna and Noelle. Sadly missed by his daughters Josephine, Julie, Rosemary, grandchildren, his brothers Cathal, Danny, Brendan, Fergal sisters Sheila Killiea, Regina Ayres, nieces, nephews and all extended family and friends.

Brı́d Fitzpatrick, Glencolmcille

The death has occurred of Brı́d Fitzpatrick, née Murrin, of Malinbeg, Glencolmcille and Erith, Kent on March 28 at Darent Valley Hospital, Dartford, Kent.

Beloved wife to Bernard, much loved mother to Paul, Anna (Thomas) and Susan (Tim), missed by all her grandchildren, Joseph, Libby, Moya, Áine, Conal and Gearóid, her sister Mary, her loving cousins Carmel and Geraldine, Mark her nephew and all of her many family and friends.

Funeral Mass on Friday, May 10 at 10.30am in Our Lady of the Angels Catholic Church Franciscan Friary, Carlton Road, Erith, DA8 1DN.

This will be followed by cremation in Eltham Crematorium, Crown Woods Way, London SE92AZ.
