Buncrana native Condy Doherty wore the No 81 bib for good reason at the North West 10K on Bank Holiday Monday.
That's because it was Condy's 81st birthday, so he took to the line in Letterkenny for the 11am start, as part of the field of 1,107 for the annual event.
Condy, who was registered in the 70+ category, completed the circuit in a time of one hour 12 minutes and 14 seconds.
Donegal Person of the Year Moya Brennan of Clannad fame was the Special Guest to officially set the runners and walkers on their way around the roads of the Cathedral Town. The three charities benefitting this year are the Kilmacrennan, Termon, Gartan, Churchill and Trentagh Community First Responders, Letterkenny Community Childcare Centre and the Cara House Family Resource Centre.
