The young woman is not to have unsupervised access to social media
A teenage woman has appeared at court in Donegal charged with possessing of child sex images.
The 17-year-old, who cannot be named for legal reasons, appeared before Judge Vincent Deane at a special sitting of Letterkenny District Court.
The court heard that the woman, with an address in Letterkenny, was arrested and made no reply when charged.
She was charged that on February 12, 2023, at an address in Letterkenny, did knowingly have in her possession child pornography to wit five videos and eight images.
The charge is Contrary to Section 6 (1) of the Child Trafficking and Pornography Act, 1998.
The court was told that the Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) has instructed prosecution on indictment.
Solicitor Ms Alison Parke was granted legal aid for her client and asked for a short adjournment in the case.
Gardai said they had no objections to bail with conditions attached. They include that the woman reside at a specific address given to the court and also to have no unsupervised access to social media.
