A Letterkenny primary school is seeking to add a new all-weather pitch to its base.

Scoil Mhuire Gan Smal have lodged a planning permission application.

Johnny Dorrian, on behalf of the school's Board of Management, has applied for permission for the construction of an all-weather pitch, to be surrounded by a 2.4m high perimeter fence.

The proposed development would include the erection of six lighting poles and ancillary site works at Sentry Hill Road, Letterkenny.

Donegal County Council say that a decision on the application will be made by June 12, 2024.

In the current school year, 320 girls and 150 boys were enrolled at Scoil Mhuire Gan Smal. Until 2018, when the first boys were enrolled, Scoil Mhuire Gan Smal was a girls-only school.
