Donegal Youth Service enjoys a brilliant St Patrick’s Day turnout

Donegal Youth Service hosted its annual St Patrick's Day Party with a huge turnout.

The Elevate55 and Youth Information teams clubbed together to bring the people of Letterkenny an alcohol-free, family-friendly St Patrick’s Day event to remember. The Drop-In facility is open from 12 to 4pm with a host of exciting activities on offer.

Over 200 people attended during the day with many families availing of the opportunity to enjoy some face painting, hair braiding, arts and crafts and sensory activities as well as to discover what Donegal Youth Service has to offer. The day was topped off with live music from a number of talented local young bands and solo musicians.

“Today was a great chance for all ages to socialise and celebrate,” Laura Byrne, Elevate55 Youth Worker, said. “It was fantastic to see so many young people enjoying themselves and having such a fun day which was made possible by funding from the Northwest Regional Drug & Alcohol Task Force.”

Lorraine Thompson, CEO, added: “The Annual DYS St Patrick's Day party is always a great success. Young people have told us they love having somewhere to come and hang out with their friends and enjoy the day. We go all out with music, food and fun-what's not to love!”
