The Donegal Mountain Rescue Team was called to assist.
Two walkers who became lost in the mist on Lough Salt were rescued by the Donegal Mountain Rescue Team at the weekend.
At 6.29pm on Saturday, the DMRT were tasked to locate the lost persons.
Using the Sarloc app, the walkers’ position was determined.
“Luckily, the pair were not far away from a farm track, which made for a very quick interception,” Donegal Mountain Rescue Team said.
“Their location, however, was on the other side of the mountain, near Golan on the Milford side, which meant they had traveled very far from their starting point at Lough Salt and were very tired, wet and cold.”
After a short ascent through farmyard and woodland, the walkers were located and swiftly walked off the hill.
The Donegal Mountain Rescue Team was stood down at 8.49pm and have thanked An Garda Siochana and the Malin Head Coast Guard for their assistance.
