The death has occurred of Liam McMenamin, Trim, Co. Meath and formerly of Kilross, Ballybofey, January 6, 2024, peacefully at the Blackrock Clinic, Co. Dublin surrounded by his family.

Beloved husband of Anne and much-loved father of Glenda, Karina (Tobin), Barbara (White) and Rhona (Doyle). Liam will be sadly missed by his wife, daughters, sons-in-law Des, John and Eamon, his adored grandchildren Bernard, Olivia, Farrah, Vincent and Louis, brother Tommy, sister-in-law Tina, brothers-in-law Jim, Brendan and John, nephew John, niece Ruth, relatives and friends.

Reposing at the family residence (The Leftbank, Newtown, Trim, Co. Meath C15 A580) on Tuesday evening from 5pm-8pm. Funeral Mass on Wednesday at 11am, in St. Patrick's Church, Trim, Co. Meath, with burial afterwards to St. Loman’s Cemetery, Trim.

The death has occurred of Ann Shepherd (née Cunningham) 16 An Lagan Gorm, Laghey and Lower Abbey Street, Sligo Town.
Peacefully, at the North West Hospice, Sligo, surrounded by her loving family. Pre deceased by her parents, John and Mary Brigid, her brother Jimmy and sister, Ena. Deeply regretted by her wider family circle.

Reposing at 16 An Lagan Gorm, Laghey on Wednesday from 4pm until 10pm. Removal on Thursday at 10.20am to St Brigid's Church, Ballintra for 11am Funeral Mass, followed by burial afterwards in the adjoining graveyard. Funeral Mass may be viewed online at www.churchservices.tv/ballintra

Dr. William John Walter Hines, Letterkenny
The death has occurred of Dr. William John Walter Hines, Ballymacool, Letterkenny, formerly of Slough, Berkshire. Died January 8 2024 peacefully. 

Forever remembered by his loving wife Gráinne, daughters Deirdre, Dairín, Ailbhe and son John, his adored grandchilden Caoilté, Klara and John, son-in-law Marc, daughter-in-law Olya, nephew Ken, great nephews Simon and Seth, grand niece Sophie, extended family, colleagues and friends.

John will repose at his daughter's Deirdre's residence 8 The Green, Ballymacool, Letterkenny F92 P4OT on Tuesday January 9 from 3-10pm and on Wednesday January 10 from 2-10pm.

Removal from there on Thursday January 11 at 8am to travel to Lakelands crematorium Co. Cavan for Cremation at 12 noon.

The death has occurred of Marie McCafferty, (née McMenamin), Derry City / Donegal
McCAFFERTY (née McMenamin), January 7, 2024, peacefully at Altnagelvin Hospital.

Marie, wife of the late Barry, beloved mother of Siobhán and Orla, devoted grandmother of Davitt, Aoibheann, Dearbhla, Liam and Caoimhe, loving sister of Michael, Norman, Anne and the late Joy and a dear mother-in-law to Billy and Oisín.

Funeral leaving her home, 14 Oakfield Road on Wednesday January 10 at 9.20am to St. Eugene’s Cathedral for Requiem Mass at 10am. Interment afterwards in the City Cemetery.

Wake on Tuesday from 4pm to 10pm.

John Shiels, Carrickataskin, Gaoth Dobhair

The death has taken place at Letterkenny University Hospital of John Shiels, Carrickataskin, Gweedore, originally of Derry. Predeceased by his wife Annie, son Donal (Bazil), sisters, Etta and Margaret and brothers, David and Liam. Sadly missed by his sister Molly, daughter-in-law Marie and extended family and friends.

She passed away peacefully, surrounded by her loving family.

Predeceased by her husband Sheamus, she will be sadly missed by her daughter Annette, son-in-law Terry, grandchildren Daniel and James, her brother Barney, her sisters-in-law Angela and Bernie, her brother-in-law Leo and her many nieces and nephews and a wide circle of relatives and friends.

Reposing at her late residence, Chapel Gate, Carrick, until 10pm on Tuesday, January 9. Rosary at 9pm on Tuesday night.

Removal from her late residence on Wednesday, arriving at St. Columba’s Church, Carrick, for Requiem Mass at 11am with burial afterwards in the adjoining cemetery.

The family home is private on the morning of the Funeral.

Predeceased by her dear husband George.

Ethel will be deeply missed and forever loved by her daughter Caroline, daughter Michelle and son David, grandchildren, great grandchildren also by her sisters and brothers and best friend Helen.

Her remains are reposing at her late residence.

Devoted father of Charlotte, beloved brother to Gerald, Katherine, James and Elaine, and beloved brother-in-law to Marie. Sadly missed by his four nieces and extended family and friends. Predeceased by his loving parents Frank and Margaret, née Doherty, of Ballyshannon and London.

His remains will be reposing at his home, 13 Melchester House, Wedmore Street, Holloway, London on the evening of January 11.
