The death has occurred at the Donegal Hospice of Michael (Mickey) Barrett, Tara Court, Letterkenny and formerly of Tyroddy, Ramelton, Co. Donegal. Sadly missed by his wife Susan, son Michael, daughter Faye, brothers Jack (England), Eamonn (England) and William (Letterkenny), sister Nancy (Ramelton), brother in law Seamus and sisters in law Maureen and Margaret, extended family and friends.

Remains reposing at the Eternal Light Chapel of Rest, Mountain Top, Letterkenny, Tuesday December 12, from 6pm to 8pm. House private please. Cremation on Wednesday December 13 at Lakelands Crematorium, Cavan. Family flowers only. Donations in lieu, if desired, to The Donegal Hospice c/o Jim Mc Glynn, Funeral Directors, Glencar, Letterkenny or any family member.

Martin Flanagan, Brollagh, Belleek
The death has occurred of Martin Flanagan Brollagh, Belleek, Co. Fermanagh, suddenly, at his residence.

Remains will repose at Gilmartin's Funeral Home, Main St., Kinlough, Co. Leitrim, on Wednesday from 6pm to 9pm. Remains will arrive on Thursday, coming from Kinlough, via Brollagh Rd. to Mary, Queen of Peace Church, Garrison, for 11am Funeral Mass, followed by interment in the adjoining cemetery.

Forever loved and missed by brothers Brian and Seamus, sister Geraldine, good friend Ursula, nieces, nephews, family circle and friends. All enquiries to Peter Carty Funeral Director, Garrison.

Grace Carr (née Carr), Fanad / Lettermacaward

The death has occurred of Grace Carr (née Carr), Gortnatrá North, Cashel, Fanad, Donegal / Lettermacaward, Donegal
Grace Carr (neé Carr) Gortnatrá North, Cashel, Fanad and formerly Dooey, Lettermacaward. Peacefully at her home surrounded by her loving family. Predeceased by her husband Eddie (2021), sisters Bridget Mc Grenaghan (Gortnatra) Eileen Carr (Doaghmore) and brother Eddie (Florida).

Grace's remains will repose at her late residence. Removal from there on Tuesday December 12 arriving at 6pm at St. Mary's Church, Fanavolty to repose overnight. Requiem Mass will held at 11am on Wednesday December 13 with burial afterwards in the adjoining graveyard. Family flowers only please, donations in lieu, if desired, to St. Mary's Church, Fanavolty c/o any family member or Mc Ateer Funeral Directors.

Sr Martina Hamilton, Ballyshannon / Dromahair, Co Leitrim

The death has occurred of Sr Martina Hamilton, St Catherine’s Convent of Mercy, Ballyshannon, peacefully, at St Phelim's Nursing Home, Dromahair, Co Leitrim, formerly Lisgorman, Dromahair.

Patrick (Paddy) Kelly, Crossroads
The sudden death has occurred of Patrick (Paddy) Kelly Garrison Lane, Dromore, Crossroads, Killygordon. F93.R5XR. Beloved husband of Sadie, and much loved father of Claire (Mark), Karl (Aisling), Patricia (Nicolas), dearly loved grandfather to Conor, Céile, Odhrán Úna, Sophie, cherished brother of Isobel, John, Tommy, Margaret, Liam, Paul.

Deeply regretted and sadly missed by his loving wife, son, daughters, brothers, sisters, grandchildren, daughter in law, sons in law, brothers in law, sisters in law, extended family and friends.

Remains reposing at his late residence from 11 am on Tuesday December 12. Funeral leaving from his late residence on Thursday December 14 at 10.30 am for Requiem Mass in St. Patrick’s Church, Crossroads, Killygordon at 11am. Interment afterwards in the adjoining Churchyard. Rose Peoples (née Doherty), Strabane / Lifford

The death has taken place on December 11 2023 at her home of Rose Peoples (née Doherty)

44 Castletown Court, Strabane and formerly of Coolatee, Lifford. Beloved wife of Johnny, much loved mother of Wendy, Shaun, Deborah and Keith, mother-in-law of Tony, Lisa, Mark and Ciara, dearly loved grandmother of Dean, Kirsty, Brooke,

Blaine and Kian, loving great grandmother of Amira and sister of Sadie, Christina, Margaret, Geraldine, Carmel, Maureen, Pauline, Laurence, Liam and the late James, Bridie and John.

Reposing at her home on Monday (December 11). Funeral leaving her home on Wednesday (December 13) at 10.20am

for Requiem Mass in St Patrick`s Church, Murlog, Lifford at 11am. Interment afterwards in the adjoining cemetery.

Deeply regretted by her sorrowing husband, sons, daughters, sons-in-law, daughters-in-law, grandchildren, great granddaughter, brothers, sisters and family circle.

Dr John Quinn, Ballyshannon / Roscommon

The death has occurred of Dr. John Quinn, Portnason, Ballyshannon, Co.Donegal and formerly of Clooneybeirne, Tulsk, Co. Roscommon.

Peacefully in the loving care of the Donegal Community Hospital, Donegal Town in his 100th year.

Predeceased by his wife Mai, brothers Martin, Tom and Paddy, sisters Kathleen and Martina.

John will be sadly missed by his heartbroken daughter Anne, sister Carmel (Blackrock), sister-in-law Rita (Tulsk), nephews Pat (Elphin), John (Chicago) Patrick-John, Anthony (Dublin), Martin P (Boston) and Michael (London), nieces Ursula, Kate (Tulsk), Shoana (Dublin) and Vonnie (New York), their partners Caroline, Jörg, Paul, Michael and Victor.

He will be forever remembered by all his grand nephew and nieces, extended family, neighbours and wide circle of friends. Especially Sharon who has played a very important role in John's life down through the last few years.

Reposing at McGee's Funeral home, Belleek Road, on Wednesday from 4pm to 7pm. Funeral to arrive at St. Joseph's Church, The Rock on Thursday for Mass of the Resurrection at 12 noon. With interment to the adjoining cemetery.

Family flowers only. Donations in lieu if so desired to he Donegal Community Hospital c/o Patrick McKenna Funeral Directors, Ballyshannon or any family member.

House strictly private at all times.

Daniel Canning, Carradoan, Rathmullan

The death has occurred of Daniel Canning, Carradoan, Rathmullan, December 9, 2023, peacefully in Letterkenny University Hospital.

Deeply regretted by his family Mary, Bridget and James, Packie and Margaret, John and Bridie, Philomena and Dessie, Anne and Danny, and Seamus, nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. Predeceased by his partner Betty Murphy and brother-in-law Johnny Loughrey.

Remains will repose at the residence of his sister Mary Loughrey, Glencross, Rathmullan, F92 T2N1. Wake Monday until 10pm.

Those attending the wake should park at St Catherine’s Church, Oughterlin, F92 A432 and a bus will be provided from there. Funeral Mass on Tuesday, December 12, at 11am in St Joseph’s Church, Rathmullan.

Patrick (Packie) Carrabin, Drimark, Donegal Town

The death has occurred of Patrick (Packie) Carrabin, Drimark, Donegal Town, peacefully at the Blackrock Galway Clinic

Packie will be sadly missed by his loving wife, Bridie, his daughters Lorraine & Clare, son-in-law Iain, grandsons Ben & Matthew, his extended family, friends and neighbours.

Remains will be reposing at Gallaghers Funeral Home, Station Road, Mountcharles (Eircode F94X02N) on Tuesday December 12 from 5pm until 8pm.

Removal from there on Wednesday December 13, going to St Mary's Church, Killymard (Eircode F94C6T) for 11 am funeral mass, followed by cremation. No flowers please. House private.

Joe Gallagher, Burnfoot

The death has occurred of Joe Gallagher, 7 The Cottages, Burnfoot.

Beloved husband of Margaret, much loved father of John, Patrick, Martin, Sharon, Deborah and Jason and dear brother of Brendan, Martin, Adeline, Rose and the late Jim.

Deeply regretted and will be forever missed by his loving wife, sons, daughters, sons-in-law, daughters-in-law, grandchildren, great grandchildren, brothers, sisters, extended family and friends.

Joe's remains are reposing at his home where you are welcome to pay your respects. Removal on Wednesday morning, 13th December 13 at 10.15am to St Mura's Church, Fahan for Requiem Mass at 11am followed by interment in the adjoining graveyard. Robert Gerard (Gerry) (Gerry German) Mc Granaghan, Castlefin / Monaghan Town

The death has occurred of Robert Gerard (Gerry) (Gerry German) Mc Granaghan.  Peacefully, at Esker Lodge Nursing Home, Co. Cavan, December 10 2023. R.I.P., late of Monaghan Town and formerly of The Raws, Castlefin.

Much loved father of Liz Mc Elchar), Seamus, Sinead, Matthew, Kate (Mukungu) and Liz (Sweeney), loving brother of Matt, Mick and the late Seamus, Pat, John, Annie and Lizzie.

Reposing at the home of his son and daughter in law, Matt and Lisa Mc Granaghan, 14, Glenpatrick Park, Ballybofey F93 RH63. Funeral from there on Tuesday, December 12, at 11am for Requiem Mass at 12noon in St. Mary's Church, Castlefin.

Interment afterwards in St. Mary's Cemetery, Castlefin. The Mass can be viewed via the parish webcam. Anyone wishing to leave a message of sympathy may do so on the condolence section below. Sean Peyton Glasnevin, Dublin / Letterkenny / Limerick

The death has occurred of Sean Peyton, Glasnevin, Dublin and formerly of Letterkenny, Co. Donegal and Limerick, December 6 2023. Beloved husband of the late Margaret (née Dagg, Shillelagh) and cherished father of Sinead, David and John; John’s fiancée Vera, sister-in-law Nancy and brothers-in-law Billy, Robert and John, cousins Eileen and Anne and their families and his best friend Brian.He is sadly missed by his family, extended family, friends and relatives, former colleagues and neighbours. 

Sean will be reposing at his home on Tuesday evening. Funeral Mass at The Church of Mother of Divine Grace, Ballygall Road East, Dublin 11, at 10am on Wednesday morning, December 13 2023 which can also be viewed on https://ballygallparish.ie

Burial afterwards at 1.30pm (approximately) at St Brigid’s Cemetery, Tomacork, Carnew, Co. Wicklow (Y14 H767).

Marcellus Gillespie, Donegal
The death has occurred of Marcellus Gillespie, peacefully, surrounded by his loving family, in the wonderful care of the staff in Donegal Community Hospital.

Predeceased by his parents Andrew and Maggie Ann Gillespie, brother John and wife Elizabeth, brother Eddie and wife Madge, sister Peggy (McHugh) and husband Neily, nephews Marcellus and Neil (McHugh) and brother in law Pat McGurn (Sligo). Marcellus will be sadly missed by his sister Eileen McGurn (Sligo), nephews, nieces, grandnephews and grandnieces and great-grandnephews and great-grandnieces. Marcellus will also be dearly missed by dear neighbours and good friends.

Remains reposing at his home Driminin, Barnesmore. Removal from his home Tuesday December 12 at 10.30am to St.Agatha’s Church, Clar for 11am Mass. Burial afterwards in adjoining cemetery.

John Mc Bride, Carrickmcgarvey, Gweedore
The sudden death has occurred at his home of John Mc Bride of Carrickmcgarvey, Gaoth Dobhair.

Predeceased by his parents Michéal & Bridie and brother Paul. Sadly missed by his brothers Manus & Owen, sisters-in-law; Bridie & Mary, nieces, nephews, relatives, neighbours and a wide circle of friends.

His remains will repose at Roarty's Funeral Home, Derrybeg (F92 DN4X)on Tuesday from 5pm to 6.45pm.

Removal afterwards to St. Mary's Church, Derrybeg for 7pm, to repose overnight. Funeral Mass on Wednesday December 13 at 11am, interment afterwards in Magheragallon Cemetery.

Fr. Desmond (Des) O'Donnell O.M.I Dublin / Ballyshannon

The death has occurred of Fr. Desmond (Des) O'Donnell O.M.I , Ballyshannon, Australia, Rome, Crewe and Dublin; December 8, 2023, peacefully at the House of Retreat, Inchicore.

Pre-deceased by his parents Seamus and Susan O’Donnell, his brothers Jim and PJ, his sister-in-law Celine. Sadly, missed by his loving sister Josephine (McConville) brother-in-law Kevin, his nieces and nephews, Maeve, Helen, Kieran, John, Ann, Nuala and Lynn and their families, grandnieces, grandnephews, his good friend Evin, his Oblates Community, extended family, and friends. May he Rest in Peace.

Funeral Mass on Tuesday (December 12) at 11.30am in Church of Mary Immaculate (Oblates), Inchicore followed by burial to the Community Cemetery.
