Uninsured motorist nabbed at 166km/h

A court appearance will follow for the motorist who was caught in the early hours of Thursday

An uninsured motorist was detected driving at 166km/h in Donegal on Thursday.

Garda from the Letterkenny Roads Policing Unit detected the driver in the early hours of the morning.

The road was governed by a 100km/h speed limit.

The drover was found to have no insurance and was arrested and charged.

Garda have confirmed that a court appearance will follow.

A spokesperson said: “We appeal to all road users to slow down and to stay safe on the roads this Bank Holiday Weekend and always.”
