Mary Jane Gillespie (née Harper), Carnadore, Castlefin

The death has occurred of Mary Jane Gillespie (née Harper), Carnadore, Castlefin, Donegal, F93 V977.

Peacefully at Letterkenny University Hospital, surrounded by her loving family.

Beloved wife of the late Bertie and much loved mother of Geraldine, (Edwin), Maxine (Eamon), Charlene (Anthony), cherished sister of Kathleen, Rose and the late Bridget, dearly loved grandmother to Thomas, (Lauren), Atlantis, Joey, Amber, and great grandmother to Hollie. Deeply regretted and sadly missed by her loving daughters, sisters, sons in law, grandchildren, great grandchild, extended family and friends.

Remains reposing at her late residence from 5pm on Wednesday March 22. Funeral leaving from her late residence on Friday March 24 at 10.15 am for Requiem Mass in St. Patrick’s Church Crossroads, Killygordon at 11am.

Interment afterwards in the adjoining churchyard.

Donations in lieu of flowers, if so desired, to the Friends of Letterkenny University Hospital, care of any family member.

Brigid McFadden, Leitrim, Tyholland, Monaghan / Falcarragh

The death has occurred of Brigid McFadden, Leitrim, Tyholland, Co.Monaghan and formerly Ballyness, Falcarragh. Tuesday  March 21, peacefully at St.Ann's Nursing Home, Ballybay.

Pre-deceased by her husband Joe McFadden. Brigid will be lovingly remembered by her sons Daniel & Paul (Heidi) and daughter Margaret Oliphant (Paul), grandchildren David. Ciara, Aidan, Ethan & Niamh, her sisters Sarah & Madge, brothers Edward & Joe, nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.

Brigid's remains will repose at McMahon's Funeral Home, Emyvale, H18 FK80 on Wednesday from 4pm - 9pm and at her home in Ballyness, Falcarragh, F92 R2F6, on Thursday from 2pm - 10pm.

Brigid's Funeral Mass will take place on Friday at 1pm at St.Fionán's Church, Falcarragh followed by burial at Gortahork Cemetery.

Family flowers only please, donations in lieu if desired to The Alzheimer's Society, Monaghan, c/o Peter McMahon, McMahon's Funeral Home, Emyvale or any family member.

Darragh Steve Gallagher, Cinema House, Convent Road, Milford

The unexpected death has taken place of Darragh Steve Gallagher, Cinema House, Convent Road, Milford F92 X4T1.

Cherished and loved so much by his mammy (Maeve), dad (Ian), sister (Elaine), brother (Daniel), grandparents(Eileen and Phonsie McElwee, Milford and Mary and Danny Gallagher, Inver), aunts, uncles, cousins, great-grandmothers (Peggy Campbell and Josie Gallagher) and god-parents (Colin and Carol McElwee).

Mass of the Angels in the family home on Friday, March 24 at 12 noon followed by interment in the family plot in Milford Cemetery. Family flowers only, donations in lieu to the National Ambulance Service. House private.

Gemma Meehan, Ardsbeg, Gortahork

The death has taken place in the Donegal Hospice of Gemma Meehan, Ardsbeg, Gortahork F92 X3K5.

Predeceased by her parents Susan and Barney, son Danny, sister Bernadette and brothers William and John. Survived by her three sons Eddie, John and Tommy, in-laws, Grandchildren, brother Hughie, nieces, nephews and a circle of family and friends.

Her remains reposing at her home. Rosary tonight at 10pm, Wednesday, March 22, at 9pm. Funeral from there on Thursday, March 23 for 11am Requiem Mass in Christ the King Church, Gortahork with burial afterwards in the adjacent cemetery.

Michael Monagle, Castlecomer Road, Kilkenny City, Kilkenny/Priestown, Carndonagh

The death has occurred of Michael Monagle, Castlecomer Road, Kilkenny City, Kilkenny/Priestown, Carndonagh- formerly of the National Bank and Bank of Ireland.

He passed away peacefully on the morning of March 21 surrounded by family.

Deeply regretted by his wife Leonora (Leo) (née Cleary) and son James, nephews, nieces, brother-in-law, extended family, colleagues, neighbours, and friends.

Reposing in Johnston's Funeral Home, John's Green, Kilkenny (R95 XE00) on Thursday, March 23 from 4pm with Funeral Prayers at 6.30pm followed by removal to St John's Church, Kilkenny. Requiem Mass on Friday morning at 10.30am. Funeral afterwards to St Kieran's Cemetery. House private, please.

Mary P McLaughlin (Frazer), Churchtown, Carndonagh and formerly of Cashel, Gleneely

The death has taken place at Letterkenny University Hospital of Mary P McLaughlin (Frazer), Churchtown, Carndonagh and formerly of Cashel, Gleneely.

Removal from the Eternal Light Chapel of Rest, Mountain Top, Letterkenny has taken place to her home in Churchtown, Carndonagh.

Funeral from there on Thursday at 10.15am going to St Mary’s Church, Bocan, Culdaff for Requiem Mass at 11am with interment afterwards in the adjoining cemetery. Family time from 11pm to 11am.

Eileen Marie (Evelyn) Logue (née Roarty), Letterkenny

The death has occurred of Eileen Marie (Evelyn) Logue (née Roarty), Letterkenny.

Beloved wife of Hugh and loving daughter of the late Liam and Margaret Roarty of Ard O'Donnell, Letterkenny and sister to Margaret, Billy, Patricia and the late Joe, sister-in-law to Frankie McNulty, Dee Roarty, Catherine Keys, Michael Logue and the late James Logue. Loving aunt to the many nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews.

She will be missed by her wide circle of friends including Inner Wheel, Cairndhu Golf Club and former colleagues at Eastern Health and Social Services Board.

She will repose at her home from Thursday, March 23, with a service at 2pm, Friday, March 24, at 7 Bramble Grange, Newtownabbey BT37 OXH, followed by cremation at Roselawn at 3.20pm.

Requiem Mass will be offered for the repose of Evelyn's soul on Monday, April 3, at 10am in St Eunan's Cathedral, Letterkenny.

Columba Collum, Ardsbeg, Gortahork 

The death has taken place, in the Donegal Hospice, of Columba Collum Ardsbeg, Gortahork F92 HHC2. Predeceased by his parents Denis and Kate, sister Mary, and brothers Edward, Josie, John and James. Survived by his sisters Brid and Eileen, brother Michael, in-laws, nieces, nephews and a circle of family and friends.

Wake at his home yesterday with Rosary at 9pm. Funeral from there on Wednesday, March 22, for 11am Requiem Mass in Christ the King Church, Gortahork, with burial afterwards in the adjacent cemetery.

House private on the morning of the funeral. Donations, in lieu of flowers to the Donegal Hospice care of any family member.

Jeannie Sayers, (née McElhinney), Errarooey, Falcarragh

The peaceful death has occurred in the loving care of her family of Jeannie Sayers, (née McElhinney), Errarooey, Falcarragh.

Much loved wife of Bobby, she will be sadly missed by her daughters Irene, Isobel, and Anne Marie, her son David and nephew James, her sister Mollie, sons-in-law Paddy, Trevor, and Patrick, daughter-in-law Valerie, and her beloved grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and extended family and friends.

Remains reposing at her late residence.

Funeral Service in Ray Church, Falcarragh on Wednesday, March 22 at 2pm, with interment in the adjoining cemetery.

House private please on the morning of the funeral.

Cecil Spence, 453 Milltown, Convoy

The peaceful death has taken place at his home of Cecil Spence, 453 Milltown, Convoy.

Beloved husband of Nancy, much loved father of son Richard, daughter-in-law Lynn and daughter Ann.

Cherished grandfather of Leanne and partner Shaun O’Loughlin also Ryan and Ciara, also great grandfather of Kaiden and Rio.

He will be sadly missed by his sister Margaret McBrearty, a wider family circle, neighbours and many friends. His remains are reposing at his late residence.

Funeral leaving from there on Wednesday at 1.30pm for 2pm Funeral Service in Convoy Presbyterian Church followed by burial in the family plot in the adjoining graveyard.

House private please, and on the morning of the funeral.

Michael Connolly, Chapel Road, Dungloe

The sudden death has occurred of Michael Connolly, Chapel Road, Dungloe. Reposing at his home.

Funeral on Wednesday at 11am in St Crone’s Church, Dungloe with burial afterwards in Maghery Cemetery.

House private please on the morning of the funeral.

Mary Duffy McCoy, St. Cecelia's, England and formerly Lower Main Street, Letterkenny

The peaceful death has occurred at her home at St Cecilia’s, England of Mary Duffy McCoy, formerly Lower Main Street, Letterkenny.

Deeply missed by her loving family Anne, Josephine, Hope, Alice, Susan, Gail, Edmond and Tony, sister Annette Duffy (Letterkenny), nieces, nephews and a wide circle of family, friends and neighbours in London, Drumkeen and Letterkenny.

She is predeceased by her husband P.J. McCoy and her brothers James Duffy (Letterkenny) and John Charles Duffy (Drumkeen).

Funeral Mass to celebrate Mary’s life will take place at St Joseph’s Catholic Church, Bromley BR1 3FH at 12 noon on Monday next, March 27, 2023, and can be live streamed on the parish YouTube channel or by clicking https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8WeZLT0EG5s 

You are invited to join the family after the funeral at Sundridge Park Golf Course, Garden Road, Bromley BR1 3NE to share stories and memories of Mary over lunch. Mary adored vibrant colours and patterns and therefore, if you feel comfortable, the family would love you to wear something colourful that makes you happy, as they remember Mary.

Over the past 20 years, Mary and her family have been supported by the most remarkable care from two charities, Leonard Cheshire and St Christopher’s Hospice.

In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to either charity in honour of Mary’s memory and to support both organisations to provide the professional expertise and sensitive loving care to others that Mary and her family were so lucky to benefit from.

Beatrice McCauley (née Healey), Lissacholly, Ballyshannon

The death has occurred of Beatrice McCauley (née Healey), Lissacholly, Ballyshannon. Beloved wife of the late Jim, much-loved mother of Declan (Niamh), Keith (Jule), adored grandma to Megan, Ben and Reilly, brother Larry, and sisters Eileen and Ita.

Predeceased by her brothers Michael, Val and John and sister Maura.

Reposed at her home until 8pm on Tuesday. House is private at all other times. Removal from her home on Wednesday morning to arrive at Saint Patrick's Church, Ballyshannon, for 11am Mass of the Resurrection followed by interment in the Rock Cemetery.

Kathleen Cleary (née Cunningham), Kinlough, Leitrim and formerly of Kilcar

The death has occurred of Kathleen Cleary (née Cunningham), No. 9 New Houses, Kinlough, Leitrim and formerly of Kilcar.

She passed away peacefully, at Sligo University Hospital. Predeceased by her husband Laurence, her brothers Connie and Jimmy, her sisters Maureen and Nora.

Sadly, missed by her son Brendan and his partner Patricia, her brothers, Sean and Willie, sister-in-law Nuala, nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family, relatives, neighbours and friends.

Reposing at home of her son, Brendan and his partner, Patricia, at No.1 Dartry Vale, Kinlough, on Wednesday from 12 noon.

Funeral arriving to St Aidan’s Church, Kinlough, for 12 noon funeral Mass on Thursday, March 23. House private to family and close friends on Thursday morning, please. Burial afterwards in St Aidan’s Cemetery, Kinlough.
