'Substantial' jewellery theft in Letterkenny

Gardai have issued an appeal for assistance following a burglary at a shop in Letterkenny

A substantial amount of jewellery was stolen from a shop in Letterkenny earlier this week.

Gardai are probing the burglary at a premises on Main Street, Letterkenny in the early hours of Monday last, March 13.

It is believed that entry was gained to the shop between midnight at 6am.

Gardai have described as a 'substantial amount', the items of jewellery stolen.

"We appeal to any road users who have a dash cam and who travelled in the town centre area between those times to contact Gardaí in Letterkenny on 074-9167100," a spokesperson said.

"If anybody observed any suspicious activity in the area between those times or if they have any relevant information then we also appeal to them to make contact with us. The Garda Confidential line may be contacted on 1800 666 111."
