Overnight snow means parts of Donegal have a blanket this morning
Parts of the county have pulled the curtains this morning to a covering of snow and Met Éireann have forecast more of the same with temperatures beyond freezing tonight.
"A frosty start this morning with icy stretches," they say. "A cold, mostly sunny and dry day though a few wintry showers will affect north facing coastal areas. Highest temperatures of just 3 to 5 degrees. Light to moderate northerly winds will veer easterly in the afternoon. Then tonight, a cold, dry and frosty night with long clear spells.
"Lowest temperatures of -4 to 0 degrees in light to moderate northeast to east winds. Then, for Wednesday, another cold and frosty start to the day, with some ice in places but staying dry and sunny."
