Inishowen’s newest legal practitioner, Kellie McLaughlin, has officially qualified as a solicitor and been admitted to the Roll of Solicitors in Ireland.
The 29-year-old, from Carndonagh, has completed years of dedicated study and professional training to achieve the qualification.
Kellie is the daughter of Brendan and Eilish McLaughlin of Glentogher, and began her education at St Patrick’s Girls’ National School before continuing on to Carndonagh Community School.
She later pursued a degree in Law and Criminal Justice at Atlantic Technological University Letterkenny, graduating with honours in 2019.
Following her graduation, Kellie joined Gibson & Associates LLP, where she began her legal career. In 2021, she undertook the Law Society of Ireland’s entrance examinations, a significant step toward professional qualification.
Her studies continued at Law Society of Ireland headquarters at Blackhall Place in Dublin, where she commenced the Professional Practice Course in December 2023 and completed it in December 2024.
During her training, Kellie completed specialist modules in Litigation, Employment Law, Criminal Law and Child Law in the summer of 2025, further strengthening her expertise. She finished her training contract in March 2026 and has now formally qualified as a solicitor.
