Donegal County Council has given the green light, subject to 27 conditions for a housing development which will contain 40 residential units at Killylastin, Letterkenny
A new 40-house estate has been given the go-ahead in Letterkenny.
PJD Construction London Limited has been granted planning permission by Donegal County Council.
The local authority has given the green light, subject to 27 conditions for the housing development which will contain 40 residential units at Killylastin, Letterkenny.
The development, located next to the Killylastin Heights estate, will include six blocks of two-bedroom terraced houses, one block of three-bedroom terraced houses and two blocks of terraced houses, each incorporating four three-bedroom houses and two one-bedroom duplex units.
The application also provided for the development of an internal access roadway, pedestrian footpaths, open space and boundary treatments as well as connection to all main services and associated site development works.
Among the conditions set down is that the developer undertake to realign the Windyhall Road on the southern side and provide active travel facilities along the entire frontage of the proposed development.
Each of the plots shall be wired and prepared with cables to enable the future charge of electric motor vehicles.
The developer must also enter an agreement with the Planning Authority that restricts all residential units permitted to first occupation by individual purchasers, i.e. those not being a corporate entity and/or by those eligible for the occupation of social and/or affordable housing, including cost rental housing.
The condition, the authority says, is in order: “To restrict new housing development to use by persons of a particular class or description in order to ensure an adequate choice and supply of housing, including affordable housing, in the common good”.
