Rory McIlroy and Shane Lowry were in fine form on Sunday on the PGA Tour with the pair finishing first and second respectively at the Pebble Beach Pro-Am event. 

Both Irish golfers went into the final round playing in the final grouping alongside Saturday night leader and Ryder Cup teammate Sebb Straka. 

However, the friends had too much for the Austrian and both passed him during the final round on Sunday evening, picking up some huge prize money in the process.

McIlroy shot a final round 66 to claim victory on 21 under par while Lowry shot a 68 that included four birdies on the back nine to claim outright second.

As a result of his victory, McIlroy picked up a cheque for $3.6m dollars, or around €3.5m. Lowry walked away with around €2.1m, not bad for a week's work.

McIlroy and Lowry had made headlines earlier in the tournament when they both his holes in one. It was Lowry's third hole in one on the PGA Tour and the ace sparked fantastic celebrations.
