Four Masters made two wins from two in the Junior Hurling Championship on Friday night, as they held off a strong comeback from an excellent Letterkenny Gaels team.

Masters led by 0-10 to 0-2 points after a very good first 25 minutes, led by Man of the Match Leo Dunphy and Oisin Burke. Three points in a row from the visitors saw the home side lead by five at the break.

Letterkenny Gaels came out of the traps fastest in the second period and got themselves within three points early on. Things got worse for Masters as they went down to 14 men and conceded a penalty, which Gaels converted to move within a point.

But Four Masters put in a heroic shift with a man down to withstand serious pressure and see the game out to win by two points and give themselves a great chance of reaching the semi-final for the first time since 2021.
