O'Donnell Park played host to St Eunan's victory over Dungloe

St Eunan’s were much stronger than Dungloe at O’Donnell Park in the Senior Hurling League.

St Eunan’s 3-13 Dungloe 0-5

The Letterkenny side were in complete control and although Dungloe offered pretty stern resistance in the second half, they found scores very hard to come by into a stiff breeze. And they were well worth their half time lead of 2-7 to 0-2.

St Eunan’s played well into the breeze in the opening half and full-forward Paul O’Donnell found the net after just a minute to set the tone for the first quarter.

By 20 minutes, they were 2-6 to 0-0 ahead with O’Donnell hitting 1-2 and Russell Forde landed 0-4 with two coming from placed balls.

Then in the 12th minute, Calvin Aidoo hit the score of the match when he broke through from 40 metres and buried the sliotar in the net. Dungloe got off the mark in the 21st minute with a pointed free from the sweet striking Brendan Boyle and he quickly added another free.

On the stroke of half-time Forde added another free. The game was only two minutes into the second half when O’Donnell struck another goal after a lightning move.

Forde landed another free and Diver replied from play. Matt Ahern sprang to life for Eunan’s with a point and Diver hit another free as Eunan’s led by 3-8 to 0-4 by the third quarter.

Matt Ahern and Brendan Horgan were on target for Eunan’s and Conor Diver responded with a pointed free for Dungloe. Fergal Delaney and Forde hit late points to seal matters.
