Friends of Letterkenny University Hospital supporting new Emergency service

CRI +ICAL Emergency Medical Response (CEMR) service was previously known as the Air Ambulance Service and responded to 120 missions in Donegal in 2022

A new Emergency Medical Response  Service (CEMR) has been given a wonderful seal of support and approval by The Friends of Letterkenny University Hospital, to the tune of €15,000.

They that they are very glad to support the CRI +ICAL Emergency Medical Response (CEMR) service, a voluntary service driven locally by Dr Gerry Lane, one of 12 volunteer Doctors nationwide and primarily rural.

The CEMR was previously known as the Air Ambulance Service.

The purpose of CEMR is to give critical, lifesaving medical care in the community in advance of the arrival of the National Ambulance service on site.

In 2022, CMER responded to 120 missions in county Donegal, divided equally among medical emergencies, cardiac arrests, and trauma.

The Friends were only too happy to respond to a request for funding from CEMR for the LUCAS automatic Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation kit at a cost of €15,000.
