Donegal has been allocated €32,676 in the Collaboration and Innovation Fund to fund key projects tackling literacy, numeracy, digital, and financial literacy needs.
The funding given to Donegal, however, is only a drop in the ocean of the more than €1 million allocated nationally by Minister of State for Further and Higher Education, Marian Harkin, and Minister at the Department of Further and Higher Education, James Lawless.
City of Dublin projects received the most funding at €154,888, followed by Galway and Roscommon at €103,740. Kilkenny and Carlow received the least funding at €7,440.
The 2025 Collaboration and Innovation Fund is an initiative of Adult Literacy for Life Strategy, aiming to ensure that every adult has the necessary literacy, numeracy, and digital literacy to fully engage in society and realise their potential.
Minister Harkin said: “I am delighted to see firsthand the incredible work that is happening throughout the country through these innovative projects and partnerships that are supporting people to access the vital literacy services they need, helping us to work towards a more inclusive and equal society in Ireland.”
