Death notices for Donegal

The following deaths have taken place:

Patsy Clinton, Tyrone and Portsalon

The death has taken place peacefully in Letterkenny University Hospital, of Patsy Clinton, 16 Bracken Gate, Strabane, County Tyrone and Claggan, Portsalon, County Donegal, F92 E510.

Deeply regretted by his loving family, Mary, James, Philomena, Joanne and Patrick, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, sisters, Sally, Philomena and Kathleen, extended family and friends, he is predeceased by his loving wife Bernie, grandchild Clarice, great-grandchildren Michéal and Meabh, brother Danny and sister Mary.

Patsy's remains are reposing at his home in Claggan, Portsalon, F92 E510 on Thursday from 6pm until 10pm and Friday from 10am until 10pm. Family time on the morning of the funeral.

Requiem Mass on Saturday at 11am in St Columba’s Church, Massmount, with burial afterwards in Massmount Cemetery. Mass can be viewed on Patrick Sweeney Funeral Directors’ Facebook Page.

Family flowers only. Donations if desired to Coronary Care Unit, Letterkenny University Hospital, c/o any family member.

Edna Mackey, Donegal Town

The death has occurred of Edna Mackey, 417 Drumrooske Estate, Donegal Town, County Donegal. She passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her loving family.

Deeply regretted by her loving children Julie (Robert), William (Louise) and Nicola (Nigel), grandchildren, great grandchildren, brothers and sisters, and extended family.

Her remains are reposing at her late residence. House strictly private please.

Funeral service in Donegal Parish Church on Saturday at 2.30pm followed by burial in Killaghtee graveyard, Dunkineely. Edna's Funeral Service can be viewed on facebook.com/DonegalGroupofParishes

Sinead Dore, Leitrim and Donegal Town

The death has occurred of Sinead Dore, Killarkin, Leitrim Village, County Leitrim, and formerly of Ardeskin, Donegal Town. She passed away peacefully, surrounded by her loving family in Sligo University Hospital.

Sinead is deeply regretted and sadly missed by her heartbroken husband Pearse O’Looney and her adored daughters Alex and Toni. She is predeceased by her father Robert (Bob), mother-in-law Lillian and her aunt Colette; remembered with love by her mother Margaret, brothers Niall and Barry, father-in-law JJ, brothers-in-law Emmett and Cathal, sisters-in-law Yvonne, Chrissie, Lisa and Mary, aunt Ella-Marie, uncles Tom and James, aunts-in-law Celine and Susan, uncle-in-law Paddy, niece, nephews, cousins, relatives and a wide circle of neighbours and friends.

Sinead's remains will repose at her home in Leitrim Village (N41 K721) on Friday from 5pm to 8pm. House private at all other times please. A shuttle bus will operate from Leitrim Gael’s GAA pitch. Please adhere to steward’s instructions.

Funeral Mass on Saturday at 12 noon in St Joseph’s Church, Leitrim Village with burial afterwards in Kiltoghert Cemetery.

Eunan Hamilton, Raphoe

The death has occurred in the Donegal Hospice of Eunan Hamilton, Irish Street, Raphoe, County Donegal.

Lovingly missed by his devoted niece Kathleen and all his nieces and nephews, extended family and friends, Eunan was predeceased by his parents Joseph and Sarah and his brothers and sisters Tommy, Jack, Vincent, Maureen, Richard, Gerald, Kathleen and Colm. 

Eunan's remains will repose at Kelly’s Funeral Home, Oakfield Raphoe, County Donegal, F93 KP0N on Thursda from 5pm to 8pm, with Rosary at 7pm, and on Friday from 5pm to Rosary at 8pm. 

The funeral cortege will leave Kelly’s Funeral Home on Saturday morning at 11.30am, proceeding via the Irish Street to St Eunan’s Church, Raphoe, for 12 noon Requiem Mass, followed by burial in the adjoining cemetery. Mass may be viewed on the parish webcam

Eileen Melly, Letterkenny

The peaceful death has taken place at Letterkenny University Hospital of Eileen Melly, née Lynch, College Farm Road, Letterkenny, County Donegal F92 HEV6.

Deeply missed by her loving daughter Mary Flynn (Oliver), sons Eamonn and Sean (Marie), grandchildren John, Ronan, Rachel, Olivia and Sofia, brothers Benny Lynch (Josie) and Eamonn Lynch (Angela), nieces, nephews and a wide circle of family, friends and neighbours. Eileen is predeceased by her husband Eamonn, brothers Tom and John and her sisters Bridie Marchetti and Kathleen McGlynn.

Her remains are reposing at her late residence on Friday from 12 noon until the Rosary at 9pm. Family time after the Rosary and on the morning of the funeral please.

Funeral from there at 10.30am on Saturday going to St Eunan’s Cathedral, Letterkenny for 11am Requiem Mass which can be viewed live on www.churchservices.tv/letterkenny Interment will take place afterwards in Conwal Cemetery, Letterkenny.

Frank Hannan, Ballyshannon, Sligo and Clare

The death has occurred peacefully of Francis Hannan, better known as Frank, late of County Clare, and Ballyshannon, County Donegal, formerly of UK and Ballymote, County Sligo.

Beloved father of Geoffrey and Amanda, will be sadly missed by daughter-in-law Michelle, grandchildren Jessica and Lucas, sister Mary, brothers Gerry, Don, sisters-in-law Kay and Meta, nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews, relatives and friends.

His remains are reposing in St Senan's Church Kilrush, on Friday from 5pm with Funeral Prayers at 6.30pm.

Funeral Mass on Saturday at 11am with burial afterwards in Breaffa Cemetery. The Funeral Mass may be viewed live on the Kilrush Parish Webcam.

David Alexander Baxter, Convoy

The peaceful death has taken place in Brindley Manor Nursing Home of David Alexander Baxter, 235 Townparks, Convoy F93WNE5.

Predeceased by his parents Alexander and Olive, brother John, sisters Jeannie, Kathleen, Martha and Susie, David will be sadly missed by his nieces, nephews, wider family circle and friends.

His remains will repose at his late residence, with wake continuing from 11am to 10pm on Thursday. Family time please on the morning of the funeral please. 

Funeral leaving from there on Friday at 1.30pm going Convoy Presbyterian Church for Service of Thanksgiving at 2pm, followed by burial in the adjoining graveyard.

Philomena O'Neill, Killybegs, Meath and Wicklow

The death has occurred of Philomena (Phil) O’Neill, née Duggan, late of Martinstown, Enfield, County Meath, and formerly of Ashford, County Wicklow. Phil passed away peacefully in the wonderful care of the team at Harbour Lights Nursing Home, Killybegs.

Loving wife of the late Sean and adored mother of Ann Conaghan (Killybegs), Fionnuala San Juan (USA), Shane (Australia), Rory (Dublin), sons-in-law Noel and David, daughters-in-law Catherine and Cynthia, grandchildren Padraig, Siobhán, Mark, Fiona, Freya, Jodie, Maria, Michael, Katherine Grace, Walker, Aidan, Liam and the late Alex, great-grandchildren Odhrán and Oisín. Phil is predeceased by her brother, Fr Padraig Duggan OP, cousins, relatives and friends.

Her remains are reposing in O’Neill’s Funeral Home, Johnstown Bridge, Enfield, County Meath, A83 CD39, on Thursday from 6pm concluding with Rosary at 8pm.

Funeral Mass on Friday at 2pm in St Patrick’s Church, Johnstown Bridge County Kildare followed by burial afterwards in Broadford Cemetery.
