Death notices for Donegal

The following deaths have taken place:

- Sinead Mc Ginley, Killybegs

- Josie Corry, Letterkenny and Ballyshannon

- Mary Lafferty, Ballybofey

Sinead McGinley, Killybegs

The sudden death has occurred of Sinead McGinley, Leeds and formerly of the Five Points, Killybegs, County Donegal

Predeceased by her mother Mona, brothers Aidan and Anthony, Sinead will be sadly missed by her beloved father Pat (Padraig), brother Pauric, sister Jess-ann, partner Helen, stepson Carrick, nephews Brandon, Alex, Feidhlim and Noah, and all of her family and friends.

Funeral arrangements to follow.

Josie Corry, Letterkenny and Ballyshannon

The death has occurred of Josie Corry, née Ward, Glebe, Letterkenny, and formerly of Ballyshannon.

Predeceased by her husband PJ, sister Maureen McCormack and brother Billy Ward; deeply regretted and sadly missed by her family, daughter Catherine Corry Graham, son-in-law Niall Graham, granddaughter Sophie Corry Graham, sisters Bríd (Birdie) Stroker, Kilteevan, Roscommon, Helen Foley (Melbourne Australia), in-laws, nieces, nephews, extended family and many friends.

Her remains are reposing at the Eternal Light Chapel of Rest, Mountain Top, Letterkenny, F92 XE35, from 2pm to 5pm on Sunday, where you are most welcome to pay your respects, concluding with removal to her late residence. House private please.

Funeral on Monday to the Church of the Irish Martyrs, Ballyraine, Letterkenny, F92 PN81 for 11am funeral Mass, followed by burial in Conwal Cemetery. Mass can be viewed online at the church YouTube channel 

Family flowers only, please, donations, if wished to the local Letterkenny branch of the St. Vincent de Paul Society, c/o Paschal Blake Funeral Director, Stoney Arch, New Line Road, Letterkenny.

Charles Glackin, Cavan and Dungloe

The death has occurred peacefully of Charles John Glackin, former Garda Sergeant Deerpark , Virginia, County Cavan and formerly Dungloe. He passed away peacefully at Virginia Primary Care Centre surrounded by his loving family.

Predeceased by his wife Mary and son Paul, Charles will be sadly missed by his heartbroken family and friends, his son Joseph, daughter Imelda, sister Brigid Annie, daughters-in-law, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

His remains are reposing at family home at Aras Mhuire, Deerpark, Virginia A82 VP21, on Sunday from 1pm until prayers at 8 pm.

Removal to Mary Immaculate Church, Virginia arriving for 11am Mass on Monday, with burial afterwards in the adjoining cemetery. Mass can be view on the church webcam

Joe Doherty, Ramelton and Letterkenny

The peaceful death has taken place at the Donegal Hospice, Letterkenny of Joe Doherty, Killydonnell, Ramelton, County Donegal F92 DX21 and formerly from Wolfe Tone Place, Letterkenny.

Deeply missed by his loving wife Patricia, daughters Chrissie, Kim (Paul) and Nicola (Paddy), grandchildren Bobby, Tommy, Louie, Molly, Eoin, Emma and Jack, sisters Marian Gildea and Patricia McDaid and her husband Phillip, brothers-in-law, sister-in-law, nieces, nephews and a wide circle of family, friends and neighbours; Joe is predeceased by his parents Agnes and Danny and brother-in-law Jimmy Gildea.

Joe’s remains are repsoing at his late residence on Sunday from 12 noon until 8pm. Family time on the morning of the funeral please.

Funeral Mass on Monday at 11am in St Mary’s Church, Ramelton and can be viewed live on the church webcam with private cremation later.

Family flowers only please. Donations in lieu of flowers, if desired, to the Donegal Hospice c/o any family member.

Vincent McGrath, Newtowncunningham

The peaceful death has taken place at the Donegal Hospice, Letterkenny of Vincent McGrath, known as Vinnie, 434 Colehill, Newtowncunningham, County Donegal F93 D32V.

Deeply missed by his loving wife Eileen and their family James, John, Liam, Michael, Kevin, Evelyn, Edward and Nigel, grandchildren and great-grandchildren, daughters-in-law, brother-in-law, sister-in-law, nieces, nephews and a wide circle of family, friends and neighbours. Vinnie is predeceased by his daughter Teresa, his brothers and sister.

Vinnie’s remains are reposing at his late residence, with wake continuing on Sunday from 11am until 10pm with Rosary at 9pm. Family time on the morning of the funeral please.

Funeral Mass at 11am on Monday in All Saints Church, Newtowncunningham with interment afterwards in the adjoining cemetery. Mass can be viewed on the parish webcam 

Family flowers only please. Donations in lieu of flowers, if desired, to the Donegal Hospice c/o any family member.

Mary Lafferty, Ballybofey

The death has occurred peacefully at Letterkenny University Hospital, of Mary Lafferty, née Mc Cool, Donegal Road, Ballybofey, F93 NXY3.

Predeceased by her husband Mick, parents Peter and Mary-Ann Mc Cool (Woodland Dooish) and brother Peter, Mary will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by her daughters Geraldine Mc Carthy, and Elizabeth Molony sons, John and Peter, sons-in-law Richard and Dominic, daughter-in-law Sharon, grandchildren, great-grandchildren.

Her remains are reposing at her home on Sunday from 2pm concluding with the rosary at 9pm. House strictly Private on the morning of the funeral please.

Funeral leaving from there on Monday at 10.20 am for Requiem Mass at 11am in the Church of Mary Immaculate, Stranorlar. Interment will take place in Stranorlar cemetery. The Requiem Mass will be streamed live via the parish webcam 

Family flowers only please, donations in lieu if so desired to the friends of St.Joseph’s Community Hospital, Stranorlar or the Alzheimers Society of Ireland, care of any family member.
