Death notices for Donegal

The following deaths have taken place:

- Bridget Carr, Fanad

- Patrick De-Ward, Ballybofey

- Paddy Coll, Creeslough

- Gerald McFadden, Ramelton

Bridget Carr, Fanad

The death has taken place of Bridget Carr, née Friel, Glinsk, Fanad. She passed away peacefully at her home, in her 101st year, surrounded by her loving family.

Predeceased by her husband John; deeply regretted by her daughters Mary McElwaine and her husband Patrick (Ballylar), Christine McElwaine and husband John (Ballylar), Anne McColgan and husband Owen (Muff), Fidelma Mc Daid and husband Gary (Glenswilly), Bridgeen Doherty and husband Paddy (Killyclug), Martina Harley and husband Gerard (RIP 2022) (Rathdonnell), sons Shaun and wife Susan (Aughnagaddy), Patrick and wife Mari (Glinsk), Paul and wife Siobhan (Grovehall, Ramelton) and Enda and wife Brighdín (Cashelshanaghan); sadly missed by her adored 28 grandchildren and her eight great-grandchildren, extended family, neighbours and her many many friends.

Bridget's remains are reposing at her late residence with Rosary nightly at 9pm. A one-way traffic system will be in operation during the day (entry at Leatbeg crossroad and exit at Ladden). From 2 pm until 9.30pm minibus transport will be available with pick-up from the lay-by beside the Harry Blaney Bridge. Family time from 10pm to 11am and on the morning of the funeral.

Removal from there on Saturday arriving at St Mary's Church, Fanavolty for 11am Requiem Mass with burial afterwards in the adjoining graveyard. The Requiem Mass will be recorded and will be available to view on The Mc Ateer Funeral Director Facebook Page later on Saturday.

Family flowers only please, donations in lieu, if desired, to the Mevagh Voluntary Fire Service c/o any family member.

Patrick De-Ward, Ballybofey

The death has occurred at Letterkenny University Hospital surrounded by his loving family, of Paddy De-Ward, Meencarrigach, Ballybofey F93 C862.

Beloved husband of the late Josephine, much loved father to sons Charles, Pauric (Helena), and daughters Deirdre (Gavin), and Joanne (Pat), dearly loved grandfather to Tommy, Siofra, Dualta, and Benny, cherished brother Mickey, Denis (Bridie) and the late Bridie, Andy and Charles. He is predeceased by his parents Patrick and Nancy.

Funeral leaving on Friday at 10.15 am for Requiem Mass at 11am in the Church of Mary Immaculate, Stranorlar. Interment will take place afterwards in Stranorlar cemetery. The Requiem Mass will be streamed live via the parish webcam 

Paddy Coll, Creeslough

The death has taken place at the Lakehouse Nursing Home, Portnablagh, of Paddy Coll, Massinass, Creeslough, F92 P654.

Sadly missed by loving wife Mary, his sons Charles, John and Stuart and daughters Terry and Anne, his grandchildren Patrick, Margaret, Mary, Aine, Evelyn, Olivia, Zoe and Jake, daughter in law Roberta, son-in-law John and step daughters Samantha and Kim, his nieces and nephews, his dear cousins Ann and Brid and his circle of family, friends and neighbours.

Family time please on the morning of the funeral.

Funeral Mass in St Michael's Church, Creeslough on Friday at 11am, with burial afterwards in Doe Cemetery.

Gerald McFadden, Ramelton

The death has taken place peacefully in Áras Uí Dhomhnaill Nursing Home, Milford, of Gerald McFadden, Aerhill, Tank Road, Ramelton, F92 W5Y4.

Deeply regretted by his loving family, Anthony (Nancy), Anne (Declan), Gerard, Michael (Nana), Brian (Lorraine), Fiona (Brian) and Adrian (Roisín), grandchildren, great-grandchildren, extended family and friends. Predeceased by his loving wife Susie and brother Jim.

Family time on the morning of the funeral.

Requiem Mass on Friday at 12 noon in St Mary’s Church, Ramelton, with burial afterwards in the adjoining cemetery. Mass can be viewed on the church webcam
