The following deaths have taken place:

Peter McMahon, Ballintra and Fermanagh

The death has occurred of Peter McMahon, Ballymagroarty, Ballintra, Donegal, F94 P9H2 and Roslea, Fermanagh.
He passed away suddenly at Sligo University Hospital.

Pre-deceased by brothers, John, Seamus, Eugene, Brian, Kevin & Oliver, sisters, Theresa & Eileen.

Beloved husband to Mary and loving father to Marie, Damien, (Yvonne), Louise (Adrian), Denise (TJ) and Peter (Joan). Loving Grandad to his Grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Brother to Noel (Roslea) and Mary (Coventry). Fondly Remembered by his brothers in law, sisters in law, nieces, nephews and his many neighbours and friends.

Reposing at the family home in Ballymagroarty, F94 P9H2, Tuesday, January 6 from 730pm and Wednesday from 10am.

Removal on Thursday morning to St Brigid's Church, Ballintra for 10am funeral Mass, followed by burial afterwards in St Tierney's Graveyard, Roslea, Co Fermanagh BT92 7PU arriving approximately 1230pm

House private on the morning of the funeral please.

Seamus O’Malley, Glenties

The death has occurred of Seamus O’Malley, Glenties, Co. Donegal, formerly of Rosmuc Co. Galway.

Predeceased by his parents, Frank and Maud.

Sadly missed by his beloved wife Bernie, his sons Michael (Deirdre), James, and John (Megan), grandchildren Rose, Charlie, Kate, and Kayden.

Brothers and sisters Tomas, Máire, John, Brid, Catriona, Michael, and Proinnsias, brothers and sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, extended family, neighbours and friends.

Reposing at his late residence in Glenties, Co. Donegal, F94 Y9T2, from 6-9pm on Tuesday 6th of January and 11am-9pm on Wednesday, January 7.

Each evening, house private after 9pm for family prayers.

Requiem Mass on Thursday  at 12 noon in St Connell’s Church, Glenties with burial afterwards in the local cemetery.

House private on the morning of the funeral.

Bridie McCarron, Raphoe

The death has occurred of Bridie McCarron (née Brennan), Meeting House Street, Raphoe.

Lovingly missed by her daughter Natasha and sons Gareth and Ronan, her grandsons Noah and Corey, her brothers and sisters, and all her extended family and friends.

Bridie was predeceased by her husband Aidan.

Bridie will repose at her late residence, Meeting House Street, Raphoe on Tuesday, January 6 from 3:30 pm to 8:30 pm and on Wednesday from 3:30 pm to 8:30 pm. Rosary both evenings at 8:30 pm.

The funeral cortege will leave her late residence on Thursday at 12:45 pm, proceeding to St Eunan’s Church, Raphoe, for 1pm Requiem Mass, followed by burial in the adjoining cemetery.

The funeral Mass may be viewed online via the parish webcam.

Family flowers only. If desired, Bridie, who loved the celebration of Mass, would greatly appreciate any Masses offered for the happy repose of her soul.

Don McCrossan, Raphoe and Monaghan

The death has taken place on Monday, January 5 of Don McCrossan, Corryagan, Donaghmoyne, Carrickmacross, Co. Monaghan and formerly of Raphoe Co. Donegal after a short illness at Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital, Drogheda in the dedicated care of all the team and with his family by his side.

Predeceased by his darling infant daughters Deborah and Mary, his grandson baby Adrian, parents Mary Ann and William McCrossan, brothers Mickey, Pat, Liam, Tommy, Eddie, Sean and Barney; sisters Susan, May and Lizzie. Don will be lovingly remembered by his wife and best friend Kathleen, his son Adrian and daughter in law Kathryn, his cherished and adored grandchildren Jonathan (Natasha) and Lauren (Jack), his precious and so loved great grandchildren Layla Rose and Lorcán, his sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, nieces, nephews, neighbours and friends.

Reposing at Deery’s Funeral Home, Carrickmacross, A81 C653 on Tuesday from 4pm to 8pm. House private please.

Family Flowers only, donations, if desired to, Drumlin House Patient Comfort Fund, St. Mary’s Castleblayney via the donation box c/o any family member or Deery’s Funeral Directors, Carrickmacross.

Bríd Heffernan, Derrybeg

The death has taken place at the Donegal Hospice of Bríd Heffernan, Factory Road, Derrybeg. Predeceased by her parents Patrick and Mary Mc Ginley, husband Tommy, daughter Sharon and her mother & father in-law; Mary & Charlie Campbell.

Sadly missed by her daughters; Mary, Paula (Declan) & Bríd Anne (Colm), sons; Tommy, Martin, Patrick (Karen) & Eamonn (Sinéad), sisters; Eileen, Nora & Nan, brother Eamonn, 10 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren and extended family & friends.

Her remains will repose at her home (F92 E1X9) tomorrow (Tuesday) from 12pm to 9pm and on Wednesday from 12pm to 8pm.

House private after Rosary and on the morning of the funeral.

Funeral Mass will take place on Thursday at 11am in St Colmcille’s Church, Cnoc Fola, burial afterwards in Magheragallon cemetery.

Patricia Gallanagh, Buncrana

The peaceful death has taken place of Patricia Gallanagh, (nee Fullerton) Blackfarm, Buncrana F93 FV48.

Deeply saddened by her passing are her loving husband Paddy, daughters Caitríona, Anne, Jennifer, Gemma & Gráinne; sisters and brothers, the wider family circle and Patricia’s many friends.

Patricia’s remains will be reposing from her late residence from 11am on Tuesday, January 6 where all are welcome to come and pay their respects.

Funeral from there on Thursday at 10.15am going to St Mary’s Church, Cockhill for 11am Requiem Mass with burial in the adjoining Cemetery.

Colm Doherty, Derry, Sligo and Donegal

The death has occurred of Colm Doherty, Derry,  Sligo and  Donegal.

He passed away peacefully at his home on December 31, 2025. 

Loving father of Emma and Ed, and their partners Graham and Claire, devoted grandfather of Aoife and dear brother of Ryma, Finola, Eileen and the late Daniel, John and Gerry. Deeply regretted by all his loving family, cherished friends and neighbours.

Everyone is welcome to pay their respects at W J O'Brien & Son Funeral Home, 110 Clooney Road, Eglinton, BT47 3PU, on Tuesday, January 6 from 4pm to 7pm. 

Requiem Mass will be celebrated in St Mary's Church, Ballybrack, Moville on Wednesday at 11am. Interment afterwards in adjoining cemetery.

Family flowers only please. Donations in lieu of flowers, if wished, to Cancer Research UK.

Mary Florence Doherty, Inver

The peaceful death has occurred in the Donegal Hospice, Letterkenny of Mary Florence Doherty, Meenagran, Inver.

Predeceased by her husband Patsy, parents Frances and Michael, and her brothers Andrew (Andy) and twin brother Michael.

Sadly missed by her son John Paudraig, sister Roseann, brothers-in-law Michael, Doug, Damien, Liam and Michael, her nieces and nephews, extended family and very many good friends and neighbours.

Remains will be reposing at Gallaghers Funeral Home, Station Road, Mountcharles (F94 X02N) on Monday, January 5 from 4pm until 8pm, and on Tuesday from 3pm until 8pm.

Funeral Mass on Wednesday at 11am in the Church of the Blessed Virgin Mary, Frosses, with cremation afterwards in Lakelands Crematorium Cavan.

Family flowers only please, donations in lieu if so desired to Donegal Hospice, Letterkenny.

Timmie (Tim) O’Toole, Derrybeg

The death has taken place at his home of Timmie (Tim) O’Toole, Factory Road, Derrybeg and formerly of Inishturk, Co Mayo.

Predeceased by his parents Joseph and Annie and sisters, Bridget, Nancy and Catherine.

Sadly missed by his wife Máiread, daughters, Nicola (Darren) and Aisling (Georgie), sons Domnick & Josie, sisters, Philomena, Marie, Theresa, Margaret and Mary, brothers John, Joe & Larry, grandchildren Aoife, Jack, Sophie and Pádraig and extended family & friends.

His remains will repose at Roarty’s Funeral Home, Derrybeg, F92 DN4X on Monday, January 5 and Tuesday from 3pm to 8pm.

Rosary nightly at 8pm.

Funeral Mass will take place at 11am on Wednesday in the Church of the Sacred Heart, Dunlewey with burial afterwards in Magheragallon cemetery.

William Gallagher, Cloghan

The death has occurred of William Gallagher, Cloghanmore, Cloghan, and formerly of Tullyhonor, Breenagh.

Predeceased by his parents, Conal and Bridget, his sister, Grace Kelly, December 2024, and his niece, Grace Marley, August 2012.

Deeply regretted by his nieces and nephews, the Breen family: Helena, Liam and Breid and the Kelly family: Mairead, Breda, PJ, Aidan, Séamus, Carmel, Claire, Evelyn and Louise.

Fondly remembered by his grandnephews and grandnieces, extended family members, good neighbours and many friends.

William’s remains will repose at his late residence on Monday, January 5 and Tuesday from 4pm until Rosary at 8pm each evening. The house is strictly private at all other times, and on the morning of the funeral.

The funeral Mass will take place on Wednesday at 11am in the Church of Our Lady of Perpetual Succour, Glenfin, followed by service of interment in Kilpheak Cemetery, Glenswilly.
