Emer Kearns, Wicklow and Ballyshannon

The death has taken place peacefully surrounded by her loving family, of Emer Kearns, née MacMahon, Rose Barronstown, Grangecon, County Wicklow and formerly Ballyshannon.

Predeceased by her loving husband Gérard and her two sons Raymond and David, Emer will be sadly missed by her daughters Deirdre and Barbara, grandchildren Raymond, Molly, Sam, Éabha and Eoin, relatives, neighbours and friends.

Fiona Elizabeth Anne Kennedy, Glenswilly and Termon

The death has taken place peacefully at home, of Fiona Elizabeth Anne Kennedy, née Robinson, Sand Stone House, Tullyhoner, Breenagh, Glenswilly, and formerly of Termon.

Predeceased by siblings Eddie, John, Gerry, Pat and Evelyn; devoted wife to husband Ray; devoted mother to sons John and wife Michelle (England), Chris and wife Tina (England), daughter Dee and husband Edward (Dunfanaghy); fondly remembered by her 11 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren, siblings Maureen, Tony, Jean and Paul, extended family members, neighbours and friends.

Fiona's remain will repose in Eternal Light Chapel of Rest, Mountain Top, Letterkenny, F92 XE35, on Monday from 5.30pm to 7pm. Family and friends welcome. Family Home Strictly Private Please.

Funeral Mass in St Columba's Church, Glenswilly on Tuesday at 11am followed by cremation in Lakelands Crematorium, Cavan at 3.30pm.

Peter Gilmartin, Cork and Bundoran

The death has occurred of Peter Gilmartin, Monkstown, Cork and formerly of Bundoran. He passed away peacefully in the presence of his sister Dympna and in the tender care of the wonderful staff at Marymount.

Beloved partner of the late Eileen and dear brother of Dympna and Bernadine, he is sadly missed by his loving sisters, brother-in-law Colin, nephews Mark and Steven and their families, relatives, neighbours and many friends.

His remains are reposing at Forde's Funeral Home, Old Waterpark, Carrigaline on Monday from 1pm until 2pm, followed by cremation at The Island Crematorium at 3pm. Memorial Mass and burial of ashes will take place in Bundoran at a date to be confirmed.

No flowers please donations if desired to Marymount.

Charles Solan, Dublin and Dungloe

The death has occurred of Charles (Charlie) Solan Tallaght, Dublin and formerly of Dungloe. He passed away on December 21, peacefully at Tallaght Hospital, following a long illness, with his loving family by his side. 

Beloved husband and best friend of Mary Frances and loving dad to Brian, David, Sandra, Michael, Shane, Josh and Katie. Charlie will be forever loved and always remembered by his family, brothers Roger and John, his much loved and cherished grandchildren Isobel, Emma, Seán, Max, Mae, Mylo and Tadhg, extended family, friends and wonderful neighbours and his four-legged friend Ruby.

His remains are reposing in his home on Saturday from 5pm until 7pm and Sunday from 5pm until 7pm. 

Funeral Mass will take place on Monday at 11am in Sacred Heart Church, Killinarden, Tallaght, following onto Newlands Cross Crematorium.

Family flowers only. Donations if desired to Tymon North Nursing Home.

Mary Anne Canning, Rathmullan

The death has taken place of Mary Anne Canning, nèe Doherty,  Oughterlin, Rathmullan. She passed away peacefully at Letterkenny University Hospital Surrounded by her loving family.

Predeceased by her beloved husband Joe, daughters Mary Moran and Sheila Brennan, son-in-law Mike; dear mother of Ann Friel (Michael), Una Rossbotham, Dan (Sheila) and Caroline; she will be sadly missed by her daughters, son, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, relatives, neighbours and friends.

Her remains are reposing at Eternal Light Chapel of Rest, Mountaintop, Letterkenny, F92XE35, on Saturday from 5pm to 7pm.

Funeral will arrive to St Catherine’s Church, Oughterlin, F92A432, on Sunday for 11am for Requiem Mass followed by internment in Rathmullan cemetery.

Junior Jordan, Ballyshannon and Bundoran

The death has taken place of Junior (Henry) Jordan, 40 Saimer Drive, Ballyshannon and formerly of Antrim House, West End, Bundoran and Le Fleur Florists, Main Street Ballyshannon. He passed away peacefully in the exceptional care of all at Sligo University Hospital.

Forever loved and sadly missed by his loving partner Paul, his beloved mother Mary, sisters Stephanie Kelly (Tommy), Mary Scallon (Frank), Judy Oliver (Stephen), his brother Jim, and all his nieces, nephews, relatives, neighbours and friends, Junior is predeceased by his father Harry, sister Majella and brother John.

His remains are reposing at Breslin’s Funeral Home, West End, Bundoran, F94E92F, on Saturday from 4pm to 8pm. House strictly private please

Celebration of Life will take place on Sunday morning at 11.30am in Breslin’s Funeral Home with removal afterwards to Lakelands Crematorium, Cavan for cremation service at 2pm.

Family flowers only please, donations in memory of Junior to SHOUT at Sligo University Hospital care of donation box at Funeral Home or to Breslin’s Funeral Directors.

As a mark of respect to the late Junior Jordan, Le Fleur Florists will remain closed until January 2.

Louise O’Donoghue, Galway and Ballybofey

The death has taken place of Louise O'Donoghue, née Dunne, Dun Saile, Prospect, Maree, Oranmore, County Galway and formerly of Ballybofey. She passed away peacefully at her home surrounded by her loving family after an illness borne with dignity and courage.

Predeceased by her parents Grania and John; dearly beloved wife of Eamonn, much loved mother of sons Eoin and Neil and daughter Rachel; Louise will be sadly missed by Neil's Fiancé Dana. Louise is survived by her brother Cormac and sisters Claire and Ruth, brother-in-law, her Aunt Ailish, nieces, nephews, relatives, neighbours, friends and work colleagues.

Her remains are reposing at Maree Pastoral Centre on the grounds of St Joseph's Church, Maree, H91KOY9 on Saturday from 4pm to 5.30pm. House private by request.

Funeral Mass in St Joseph's Church, Maree on Sunday at 12.30pm with burial afterwards in Renville Cemetery.

Mary O'Donnell, Ballybofey

The death has occurred at Letterkenny University Hospital surrounded by her loving family of Mary O’ Donnell, née Browne, Dooish, Ballybofey.

Predeceased by her beloved husband John, parents James and Mary Anne, and her 12 brothers and sisters. Mary was the final surviving member of the Browne family of Meenticat, Drumkeen. She is deeply regretted and lovingly remembered by her sons and daughters Seamus (Katie), Mary Margaret, Alice (John), Shaun (Nicola), Paul (Martina), Noel (Monica), Michael (Candida), her 34 grandchildren, 1 great-grandchild, nieces, nephews, brother-in-law, sisters-in-law, extended family, relatives and friends.

Reposal of Mary's remains continues at her late residence on Saturday from 12 noon until rosary at 9pm. There will be a Shuttle Buses in operation from the carpark of the Road House Bar, Ballybofey, F93 YK35 and the family request that everyone attending the wake avail of the Shuttle Bus Service. The house is strictly private to children and grandchildren on the morning of the funeral please.

Funeral leaving from her residence on Sunday at 10 am for Requiem Mass at 11am in the Church of Mary Immaculate, Stranorlar. Interment will take place afterwards in Drumboe cemetery. Mass will be streamed live via the parish webcam

Eugene Quinn, Donegal Town and Dublin

The death has occurred of Eugene Quinn, Knocklyon, Stoneybatter and formerly of Water Street, Donegal Town. Eugene, passed away peacefully, surrounded by love, in the tender care of the staff of Fairview Community Unit.

He is predeceased by his father Peter, mother Mary B, brother John Bosco and his sisters Veronica and Helen. He will be sadly missed by his partner Teresa, son Conor and Conor’s mother Anne, his brothers Charles, Dominic, Liam, John and Hugh, his sisters Mary, Teresa, Roisín and Nora, sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, nieces and nephews, grand-nieces and grand-nephews, extended family and a large circle of friends.

Having reposed in Dublin, his remains will make his final journey home to Donegal to repose again at the Tír Conaíll Funeral Home, Donegal Town, F94 FX3A, on Saturday from 5pm to 7pm.

Funeral Mass will take place on Sunday in St Patrick’s Church, Donegal Town, F94 R5RK, at 11.30am. He will complete his journey home thereafter when he will be laid to rest among his deceased family and friends in Clar Cemetery, in the grounds of St Agatha’s Church, Clar, Donegal Town, F94 VXT6. The funeral service can be viewed live here.

Donations, in lieu of flowers, may be made in memory of Eugene to a charity of your choice.

James Meehan, Monaghan and Killybegs

The death has occurred of James (Seamus) Meehan, retired Garda sergeant, Cavanageeragh, Carrickmacross, County Monaghan and formerly of Killybegs. He passed away peacefully at home on Christmas Day surrounded by his cherished family.

Predeceased by his wife Eelish, his parents George and Teresa, his brothers George, Sean and Joe and his sister Mary, he is sadly missed and remembered with love by his son Paul and his daughters Ann, Linda and Helen (Martin), his much-loved grandchildren Ciaran, Sean, Aaron, Megan, Daniel, Liam, Finley, Barry and Andrew and his great-grandchildren Vanessa, Serena and Éabha, his daughter-in-law Joan, his sister Kathleen, his nephews, nieces, extended family, neighbours and friends.

James' Funeral cortège will leave his home on Saturday driving to the Pound and from there proceeding on foot, via the Bridewell, to St Joseph's Church, Carrickmacross, A71 K253, arriving for Funeral Mass at 11am followed by burial in St Joseph's Cemetery.

William Grant, Buncrana

The peaceful death has taken place of William Grant at his residence Westbrook House, Buncrana.

Predeceased by his beloved wife Mary-Margaret; dear father of Edele (John), Eilish, Anne-Marie (Paul), Orla (Iain), Liam (Sonya), fondly remembered by his grandchildren Jayne, Dearbhla, Eimear, Peter, Cormac, Henry, Aoife, Saoirse; sadly missed by his brother Noel (Shari), Alaska and his sisters Mary and Joan (John), Dublin.

His remains are reposing at his residence. 

Funeral from there at 10.35 am on Saturday, going to St Mary's church Cockhill for 11am Requiem Mass with burial afterwards in the adjoining cemetery. Funeral mass can be viewed online at Churchservices.tv/cockhill

May Timothy, Ballyshannon

The death has taken place of May Timothy, née Gallagher, Rathmore, Ballyshannon. She passed away peacefully in her 97th year surrounded by her loving family and in the exceptional care of all at Ballyshannon Community Hospital.

Beloved wife of the late Jim Timothy, forever loved and sadly missed by her loving son and daughters, Michael, Patricia (Gallagher) and Jacqueline (McGowan), daughter-in-law Laura, sons-in-law Joe and Gerry, her beloved grandchildren Ciara (Kevin), Martin, James (Katie), Darragh (Sacha), Joseph, Dermot, Khayla, James, John-Paul, Gabriel and Andrew, her adored 5 great-grandchildren, her close friend Judith and all her nieces, nephews, relatives, neighbours and friends. She is predeceased by her parents Johnny and Cissie Gallagher and her brother Michael.

Removal from her late residence on Saturday at 11.30am to arrive to St Aidan’s Church, Kinlough for Mass of the Resurrection at 12 noon, with removal afterwards to St Joseph’s Cemetery, The Rock, Ballyshannon for burial service. May’s Funeral Mass can be viewed live on the Kinlough-Glenade Facebook Page
