Death notices for Donegal on Monday evening

The following deaths have taken place:

Margaret McCauley, Ballyshannon

The death has occurred of Margaret McCauley, née Fox, Springvale Care Home, Lennoxtown, formerly of Bonahill, Ballyshannon. She passed away peacefully after three years in the loving care of the staff at Springvale Care Home.

She is sadly missed by her loving sons Seán and Cathal, sister Helen, grandchildren Cara, Calum and Katie, extended family, neighbours and friends.

Her remains will repose at St Michael’s RC Church, Mulleek on Wednesday at 7pm.

Funeral Mass on Thursday at 11am, followed by burial in St Michael’s graveyard.

Mary Ann Byrne, Kilcar

The peaceful death has occurred at her home of Mary Ann Byrne, née Cannon, Straleel, Kilcar and formally of Srath Buí, Gleann Cholmcille.

Sadly missed and lovingly remembered by her children, Martin (Margaret), Pete (Mary), Mary (Seamus), Bríd (Michael) Michael (Ann), Margaret (Seamus), Gerry (Christine), Ann (Danny RIP), Jimmy (Ciara), Charlie (Orla), Martina (Francis), her 34 cherished grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren. She is fondly remembered and sadly missed by her brothers Sean, Francie and Hughie, her sisters Threasa, Kathleen and Bríd, her extended family, neighbours and friends. Mary Ann is predeceased by her beloved husband Hugh Patrick, her grandson Barry Breslin, son-in-law, Danny Mc Gill, her brother Peter and sisters Bernadette and Philomena.

Her remains are reposing at her residence on Tuesday from 12 noon until 10pm and on Wednesday from 12 noon until 10pm.

Funeral Mass on Thursday at 11am in St Cartha's Church Kilcar with burial afterwards in the local Cemetery.

Nathaniel Black, Lisfannon, Derry and Belfast

The death has taken place of Nathaniel (Nat) Black of Ludden, Buncrana, formerly Derry City and Belfast. He passed away peacefully, after a short stay at Balmoral View Care Home, Belfast.

He was much loved by his family circle, children Dolores, Deirdre, Maura and David, grandchildren Elspeth, Aidan, Rory, Patrick, Matthew, Mollie, Katie and Manus, and great grand daughters Freya and Maddie. By his sons and daughter-in-law Jonathan, Clive and Rush, all his in-laws, nephews and nieces, the partners of his grandchildren and the wider family. He was pre-deceased by son Nathaniel and wife Dolores, and by all his siblings. He is deeply regretted by the wider family circle and friends.

Nat’s remains are in repose in Ludden Cottage (at Links View Park entrance), F93 YH5C. Family and friends welcome on Monday and Tuesday from 12noon to 2pm and from 6pm to 9pm.

Requiem Mass will be celebrated on Wednesday at 10am in St Mary’s Oratory, Buncrana. Interment afterwards in the City Cemetery, Derry. The Requiem Mass may be viewed on the parish webcam

Myra Donnelly, Carndonagh and Louth

The death has taken place of Myra Donnelly, née Friel, Carroll Mead and formerly of Mounthamilton, Ardee Road, The Derryhale Hotel, Dundalk and Carndonagh, County Donegal. She passed away peacefully in Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital.

Beloved wife of the late Brendan, dear mother of Mary, sister of Joan, Frank, Helen, Rosemary, and the late Anne and Denis, Myra will be sadly missed by her daughter, brother, sisters, nephews, nieces, relatives and friends.

Her remains will repose at McGeough's Funeral Home, Jocelyn Street, A91 XW66 from 4pm until 6pm on Monday.

Removal on Tuesday morning to St Fursey's Church, Haggardstown arriving for Mass at 11am with burial afterwards in St Michael’s Cemetery, Carlingford.

Sean O'Donnell, Stranorlar and Dungloe

The peaceful death has occurred at Hillcrest Nursing Home, Letterkenny of Sean O’Donnell, 6 Woodlawn, Stranorlar. F93 Y9Y1 and formerly Belcruit, Kincasslagh, Dungloe.

Beloved husband of the late Cora, much loved father to Shauna (Seamus), Daragh, (Miquel) Cahir, (Miriam), cherished brother of Vinny, Beatrice, Celia, dearly loved grandfather to Aoife, (Joe) Conor, Clodagh, Aoibheann, Sean, Ronan, Eoghan, Aisling, Max, and Amina. He is predeceased by his parents Patrick, and Brigid, brother Ben, sisters Sue, Anne, Maura. Deeply regretted and lovingly remembered by his, sons, daughter, brother, sisters, sons in law, daughter in law, grandchildren, nephews, nieces, extended family and many friends.

His remains reposing at his late residence on Monday from 1pm until rosary at 9pm.

Funeral leaving from his late residence on Tuesday at 10.30am, for Requiem Mass in the Church of Mary Immaculate, Stranorlar at 11am. Interment will take place afterwards in Drumboe cemetery. The Requiem Mass will be streamed live via the parish webcam

William O'Connor, Donegal Town and Teelin

The death has occurred of William (Billy) O'Connor, Drumrooske, Donegal Town and formerly of Teelin, aged 100 years. Billy passed away peacefully under the excellent care of the staff of Donegal Community Hospital surrounded by his loving family.

He is deeply regretted and sadly missed by his devoted Wife Marie, his children Liam, Cathy, Patsy, Peter, Carol and Des, daughters in law and son in law, grandchildren, great grandchildren, his two sisters, nieces, nephews and friends in New York, Australia and Dublin.

House strictly private on Monday and on the morning of the funeral.

Funeral Mass on Tuesday in St Mary's Church, Killymard, F94 C6T7, at 12 noon, followed by burial afterwards in the adjoining cemetery.

Family flowers only please; donations in lieu if desired to the Patients Comfort Fund at Donegal Community Hospital.

Kathleen Corduff, Dublin and Glenties

The death has occurred of Kathleen Corduff, née Houston, Laurel Lodge, Castleknock, Dublin 15 and formerly of The Rock, Glenties. She passed away peacefully, surrounded by her family, at her home.

Predeceased by her beloved husband Michael, her parents Francie and Josie and her brother Sean; much-loved mother of Niamh and Marion and devoted Granny of Laura and Ronan, Katie and Conor. She is missed by her loving family, sons-in-law Adam and Mark, sisters Mary, Josephine, Rosaleen and Breidín, brother Francis, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nephews, nieces, relatives, neighbours and friends.

Her remains are reposing at her home on Monday, from 2pm to 8pm.

Removal to the Church of St Thomas the Apostle, Laurel Lodge, Castleknock on Tuesday, arriving for Requiem Mass at 11am followed by burial in Mulhuddart Cemetery. Kathleen’s Funeral Mass may be viewed live here.

James Shovlin, Dungloe and Killybegs

The peaceful death has taken place of James Shovlin Caravan Road Dungloe and formerly of Killybegs in Letterkenny hospital surrounded by his loving family.

Preceded by his wife Nancy, parents Johnny and Mary sisters Mary Bridie and brother John, he is sadly missed by Annmarie (PJ and Adam) his brother Martin, also Marie and Irwin and all his other nieces, nephews extended family and friends.

His remains will repose at Mc Glynn's Funeral Home, Dungloe from 2pm to 8pm on Monday, with Rosary at 8pm.

Removal on Tuesday morning to St Crona's Church Dungloe for 11am Mass. Burial will take place afterwards in Dungloe cemetery.

Kathleen McCauley, Moville

The peaceful death has taken place at Buncrana Community Hospital of Kathleen McCauley, née McKinney, Quay Street, Moville.

Predeceased by her parents Mary and James McKinney and her husband Vincent. Deeply regretted and sadly missed by her wider family circle, friends and neighbours.

Reposing of Kathleen’s remains continues at Eamonn McLaughlin’s Funeral Home, Station Road, Carndonagh F93 E4FN on Monday from 3pm to 6pm, where you all are welcome to pay respects, followed by removal at 6pm going to St Pius X Church, Moville to repose overnight.

Kathleen’s Funeral Mass will take place on Tuesday at 10am in St Pius X Church Moville, followed by burial in Ballybrack graveyard. Funeral Mass can be viewed live on www.movilleparish.com.

Hugh Mooney, Glasgow and Culdaff

The death has occurred at Glasgow Infirmary of Hugh Mooney, formerly of Cloncha, Culdaff, Donegal.

Deeply regretted and sorely missed by his loving children Michael, Pauline, Hugh, Tom, son-in-law Francis, much-loved grandchildren Mary Ellen and Jennifer Anne, brothers, sisters, nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. Predeceased by his wife Mary Anne Mooney brother, Benny and sister, Patricia.

Hugh’s remains are reposing at his late residence.

Funeral from there on Tuesday, going to St Dominic’s Church, Bishopbriggs, for Requiem Mass at 10am and thereafter to Glasgow Crematorium, The Western Necropolis Cemetery, 19 Tresta Rd Glasgow G23 5AA. Hugh’s Funeral Mass can be viewed live on the Sancta Familia Media YouTube channel.
