The following deaths have taken place:

Kathleen Corduff (née Houston), Dublin 15 and Glenties

The death has occurred of Kathleen Corduff (née Houston), Laurel Lodge, Castleknock, Dublin 15 and formerly of The Rock, Glenties.

She passed away peacefully, surrounded by her family, at her home. Predeceased by her beloved husband Michael, her parents Francie and Josie and her brother Sean.

Much loved mother of Niamh and Marion and devoted Granny of Laura and Ronan, Katie and Conor.

Missed by her loving family, sons-in-law Adam and Mark, sisters Mary, Josephine, Rosaleen and Breidín, brother Francis, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nephews, nieces, relatives, neighbours and friends.

Reposing at her home on Monday, August 25 from 2pm to 8pm.

Removal to the Church of St Thomas the Apostle, Laurel Lodge, Castleknock on Tuesday, August 26 arriving for Requiem Mass at 11am followed by burial in Mulhuddart Cemetery.

Mark Kiely, Old Golf Course, Donegal Town

The death has taken place of Mark Kiely, Old Golf Course, Donegal Town F94F8P0.

Mark will be greatly missed by his parents Joe and Patricia Kiely, brothers Calvin, Rory and Ailìn, Emmet and Sinèad, aunts Nora (Babs) Kellly and Marie Kelly (Godmother), Eileen Kiely and Mary Mc Carthy, uncles Tom (Marnie), Johney (Mags) Kelly, Fr Eugene Kiely (Godfather), Denis, Ben, Danny, Patrick, Jerry, Vincent, Sean, Christy,Tim (Deceased) and all their wives and children, all the cousins and extended family in U.S.A and Ireland and his many friends

Reposing at Tir Conal Funeral Home Donegal Town F94FX3A on Sunday from 1pm to 6pm. Funeral mass in St Patrick’s Church, Donegal Town on Monday at 12noon with burial afterwards in Clar Graveyard. House private please.

Kathleen Stewart, Dungloe

The death has occurred in her home of Kathleen Stewart, nee Hanlon, Crucknagerragh, Dungloe, F94 W3F9.

Kathleen’s remains will be reposing at her home this evening, Friday, from 6 pm until 10 pm, and tomorrow, Saturday, from 12 noon until 10 pm.

Funeral Service on Sunday in St. Crone’s Church of Ireland, Dungloe at 2.30 pm with interment afterwards in the adjoining graveyard.

Hugh Mooney, Glasgow and Culdaff

The death has occurred of Hugh Mooney, formerly of Cloncha, Culdaff, Donegal, at Glasgow Infirmary on August 14.

Deeply regretted and sorely missed by his loving children Michael, Pauline, Hugh, Tom, son-in-law Francis, much-loved grandchildren Mary Ellen and Jennifer Anne, brothers, sisters, nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.

Predeceased by his wife Mary Anne Mooney brother, Benny and sister, Patricia.

Hugh’s remains will be reposing at his late residence from 12 noon on Monday, August 25.

Funeral from there on Tuesday, August 26, going to St Dominic’s Church, Bishopbriggs, for Requiem Mass at 10am and thereafter to Glasgow Crematorium, The Western Necropolis Cemetery, 19 Tresta Rd Glasgow G23 5AA.

Family flowers only.

Donations if desired to Medical Aid for Palestinians.

Gerrard Breslin, Carrick and Ardara

The death has occurred ofGerrard Breslin, Glen Road, Carrick and late of Magumna, Ardara.

Former Principal of Carrick Vocational School, he passed away peacefully in the wonderful care of the staff at Sligo University Hospital.

Predeceased by his beloved wife Bridie, his daughter-in-law Finola, his grandson Gary, his seven sisters and six brothers. Gerry was a much-loved father to Gary, Clare and Fiona, he will be sadly missed by his son-in-law David, adored Grandad to Shona, Colm, Aisling, Dáire, Sinéad, Ailbhe, Harry, Eoin, Orlaith and Liam and a wide circle of family and friends.

His remains will be reposing in Shovlin’s Funeral Home, Sandfield, Ardara on August 22 from 4pm to 7pm followed by private removal to his late residence in Carrick. Reposing at his late residence on Saturday, August 23 from 12 noon to 8pm.

Removal to St Columba’s Church, Carrick on Sunday, August 24 for funeral Mass at 2pm with burial afterwards in the adjoining cemetery. House private on the morning of the Funeral please.

Family flowers only please, donations, if desired, to Cancer Care North West, through Curran’s Funeral Services or any family member.

 

Tristan Cullen, Carrigart

The death has occurred suddenly of Tristan Cullen, Creevagh, Carrigart.

Beloved son of James and Andrea; brother to Claragh (Gary) and James; uncle and Godfather to baby Ryker.

Sadly missed by his nanna Rosemary, his grandad Donal, his aunts, uncles, cousins, and large circle of friends.

Tristan’s remains will be reposing at the Chapel of Eternal Rest from 5pm to 7pm on Friday, August 22, with removal after to his home.

House is strictly private at all times.

Funeral Mass on Sunday, August 24 at 1pm in St John the Baptist Church, Carrigart.

No flowers. Donations in lieu to Pieta House.

Seamus Griffin, Cavan and Pettigo

The death has occurred of Seamus Griffin, Drumahurk, Butlersbridge, Cavan  and formerly Pettigo.

He passed away August 20 peacefully at Cavan General Hospital, in the loving care of his family.

Predeceased by his beloved wife Cathy, brother Noel and his sisters Maura and Mina. Seamus will be very sadly missed by his loving family, Gerry (Bronagh), Jim (Patrina), Conor (Sara), Karl (Karen), John (Tracy) and Paul (Jenny), by his cherished grandchildren James, D.J, Millie, Toby, Rory, Darragh, Cara, Áine and Órla, sister Patricia, his nephews, nieces, all his extended relatives, neighbours and many friends.

Reposing at the McMahon Funeral Home, Farnham Rd, Cavan (H12C821) on Saturday from 5pm until 6pm. Seamus's remains will leave his home in Drumahurk on Sunday morning at 10.15 and will travel to St Aidan's Church, Butlersbridge, arriving for Funeral Mass at 10.30 am. Burial will take place afterwards in St Aidan's Cemetery, Butlersbridge.

Theresa Ferguson (née McGlynn) Malinmore

The death has occurred peacefully on August 15 of Theresa Ferguson (née McGlynn) of Ayr, Scotland and Malinmore, Glencolmcille, Donegal, at the Ayrshire Hospice in Ayr surrounded by her loving family.

Pre-deceased by her mother Margaret McGlynn (née Craig), her father John and her sister Mary. Sadly missed by her husband Hugh, daughter Lynn, son Richard and grandchildren Robyn, Adam and Kit and nieces, nephews and extended family.

Funeral Mass will be held on September 4 at 10am in St Margaret's RC Church in Ayr followed by Ayr Crematorium. Her final remains shall be taken to St Columba's Church, Cashel, Glencolmcille on Friday, September 12 where Mass will be held at 12 noon with burial afterwards in adjoining cemetery.

John G Kelly, Letterkenny

The death has taken place of John G Kelly, “Bahai House”, Oldtown, Letterkenny, and formerly of Newmills, Letterkenny.

he passed away peacefully in the Donegal Hospice under the wonderful care of the Hospice staff and surrounded by his loving family and friends after a short illness bravely borne.

Deeply regretted and sadly missed by his loving partner Ann (Carroll), son Nathan. Pre-deceased by his Father Packie, Mother Bridie, Sister Teresa, Aunts and Uncles.

Sorely missed by his brothers, sisters, godson AJ (Tighe), nieces and Nephews and the Kelly, Carroll and Gallagher families.

John will repose at the home of his Sister in Law Breege Carroll Gallagher, Greenhill, Letterkenny, F92 PY2W from 5pm on Thursday, August 21, leaving there on Saturday morning, August 23 to go to Lakelands Crematorium for private cremation at 1pm.

Family time please from 9pm until on noon both days please.

Daniel (Dan) Breslin, Burnfoot

The death has occurred at the Donegal Hospice of Daniel (Dan) Breslin, Gortnaskea, Burnfoot.

Predeceased by his loving wife Margaret and sister Sadie McColgan. Much loved father of Martha McClay (Stephen), Mary, Linda Whoriskey (Joe), Angela McDermott (Mark) and Daniel (Leanne).
Loving brother of John, Jimmy, Mickey and Ann.

Deeply regretted and will be sadly missed by his loving son, daughters, sons-in-law, daughter-in-law, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, sister, brothers, extended family and friends.

His remains will be reposing at his home on Thursday, August 21 from 2.00pm where you are welcome to pay your respects.

Removal from there on Saturday, August 23 at 10.15am to St Mura’s Church, Fahan for Requiem Mass at 11.00am followed by interment in the adjoining graveyard. Family flowers only please.

Eddie (Patrick) McGuinness, Killybegs

The death has occurred of Eddie (Patrick) McGuinness, Roshin (Tyrone), Killybegs, Co. Donegal.

Predeceased by his wife Rosaleen, daughter Mary and parents John James and Catherine. Sadly missed by his sons and daughters, Patricia (Michael), John (Doug), Patrick (Kieran), Capbrinia (Aaron), Caroline (Alan) Marina (John), Breda (Fintan) and Kevin, grandchildren Michaela, Alana, Ryan, Tegan, Daniel, Lucy, Jack , Abbie, Joseph and Róisin, sisters Adalaide and Bridget, brother in law, sisters in law, nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

House strictly private on Wednesday, August 20. Reposing at his residence on Thursday and Friday from 11am to 9pm.

Removal on Saturday at 10.30am to St Mary of the Visitation Church Killybegs for 11am funeral Mass with burial afterwards in the local cemetery.

Please note that there will be a one way traffic system in place during wake hours, entering from the Arctic side and exiting through Glenlee.
