Death notices for Donegal on Thursday evening

The following deaths have taken place:

- Stephen Patterson, Letterkenny

Michael Loughrey, Rathmullan

The death has taken place peacefully at home of Michael Loughrey, Drumhalla, Rathmullan.

Deeply regretted his loving wife Rose Ann, sons Kevin (Caroline) and Mark, grandchildren Bronagh, John, Killian, Ríadh and Micheál, brothers Fr Neil, Paddy, Dan, Paul and Noel, sisters Mary, Siobhan, Evelyn and Stella, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. He is predeceased by his parents John and Rosie and his brother John.

Michael's remains are reposing at his home from 5pm until 10pm on Thursday and from 1pm until 10pm on Friday August.

Requiem Mass on Saturday at 11am in St Catherine’s Church, Oughterlin. Burial afterwards in Rathmullan Cemetery. Those attending the wake should park at St Catherine’s Church, Oughterlin, F92 A432, and a bus will be provided from there.

Siobhan Mc Brearty, Kilcar

The peaceful death has occurred of Siobhan Mc Brearty, née Gillespie, Churchtown, Kilcar, Donegal, F94TW93. She passed away at Donegal Hospice surrounded by her loving family after a short illness.

Predeceased by her husband Con, Siobhan is sadly missed by her children, Mary and Peter (Churchtown), Sean and Fiona (Letterkenny), Susie and Joe (Gweedore), Martina (Letterkenny), Gerry (Letterkenny), Paul and Mary (Ballina), Donal and Annette (Carrick), Jacinta (Letterkenny) and Una and Vincent (Claregalway). She is fondly remembered by her much loved 11 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren, extended family and many friends.

Her remains are reposing at her family home in Churchtown Kilcar, F94TW93, on Thursday and Friday from 12 noon until the Rosary at 9pm each day. House strictly private at all other times and on the morning of the funeral. A shuttle bus will be in operation from the Aislann Carpark during wake times.

Funeral Mass will take place on Saturday at 11am in St Cartha’s Church, Kilcar, F94KA07, followed by burial in the local cemetery.

Family flowers only please. Donations in lieu if desired to Carrick Day Care Centre care of any family member or Mc Shane Funeral Directors. 

Sheila Cunningham, Killybegs

The death has occurred of Sheila Cunningham, Riverdale Heights, Killybegs. She passed away peacefully surrounded by family in the devoted care of Aras Mhic Shuibhne.

Predeceased by her husband Willie, she is sadly missed by her daughter Finula (Paul), sons Barry (Ashley) and Peter (Margaret), grandchildren Eimear, Evin, Glen and Vince, sister Joan, nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

Repose of her remains continues at her residence on Thursday from 12noon to 9pm. House private on the morning of the funeral please.

Removal on Friday morning at 10.30am to St Mary of the Visitation Church, Killybegs for 11am funeral Mass. Burial will take place afterwards in the local cemetery.

Sean Doherty, Malin

The death has taken place at his home of Sean Doherty (John Ned), Ballysalla, Culkeeny, Malin F93 V2T6

Beloved husband of Ann and much loved father of Gary (Bernadette), Michelle, Pamela (Ciaran), Deborah (Conor) and Ciaran, devoted grandfather of Liam, Chloe, Max, Aoife, Shannan, Shaun, Lily, Clara, Lorcan and Ava. Deeply regretted and sadly missed by his sisters Mary, Betty, Sadie and Hannah, brothers-in-law, nieces and nephews, wider family circle, friends and neighbours.

Sean's remains are reposing at his home where everyone is welcome to pay their respects.

Funeral from there on Friday at 11.15am for 12pm Requiem Mass in St Patrick's Church, Aughaclay, followed by Interment in the adjoining cemetery. Funeral Mass can be viewed live on Eamonn McLaughlin Funeral Directors Facebook Page.

Denis Gallagher, Stranorlar and Dublin

The death has taken place of Denis Gallagher, Dublin and formerly of Stranorlar.

Predeceased by his parents Jack and Nora and his sister Fidelma, he is sadly missed and remembered with love by his beloved family - his wife Colette, his daughter Lynn and his son John, his son-in-law Matt and his daughter-in-law Deirdre, his much loved grandchildren Sean, Mairéad, Aoife, Niamh, Eimear, Aoibheann, Roisín, Katie and Johnny, his sisters Sylvia, Yvonne and Terri, his brothers Andrew, Gerard and Paul, his extended family and friends.

His remains will repose overnight at St Mary’s Church, Stranorar, F93 AVN0 from 7pm on Thursday.

Funeral Mass there on Friday morning at 11am followed by burial afterwards in the Old Graveyard, Stranorlar.

Stephen Patterson, Letterkenny

The death has occurred at University Hospital Galway of Stephen Patterson, 17 Ashbrook, Letterkenny, F92 XPR8, and formerly Clonmass, Portnablagh.

Stephen will be deeply missed by his son Adrian, daughters-in-law Catriona and Moira, granddaughters Nessa and Oonagh, brother Henry (Anne) brothers-in-law JP and George (Maria), sisters-in-law Susan and Anne (Chris), nieces, nephews and friends. Stephen is predeceased by his wife Kathleen and son Ciarán.

His remains will be reposing at his late residence in Ashbrook.

Funeral Mass in St Eunan's Cathedral, Letterkenny on Friday at 12 noon with burial afterwards in Fanavolty Cemetery, Kindrum, Fanad
