Death notices for Donegal on Tuesday morning

The following deaths have taken place:

- Margaret Mc Bride, Milford

- Bernard (Brian) Carr, Kilcar

- Anne Smet, Donegal Town, Longford and England

Ann Kirwan, Ballyshannon and Buncrana

The death has occurred of Ann Kirwan, née McCullough, Abbeylands, Ballyshannon and formerly from Buncrana. She passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family at Sligo University Hospital.

Sadly missed by her sons David, Stephen, Paul, and Noel, her daughter-in-law Amanda and her granddaughter Isla, her brother Thomas and sister Mary McCullough. Predeceased by parents Thomas and Lily McCullough.

House private please.

Edward Gallagher, Dublin and Gortahork

The death has taken place on Edward Gallagher, Perrystown, Dublin  and Gortahork, Donegal. He passed away peacefully at home in Vincennes, France.

Beloved husband of the late Bridget and loving dad of Anthony; sadly missed by his loving son, daughter-in-law Murielle, grandchildren Caitlín, Órla and Ciara, brother Joe and sister, Madge, nephews, nieces, relatives, neighbours, former colleagues and many friends.

Funeral arrangements to follow

Jimmy Mc Ginley, Glasgow and Gweedore

The death has take place of Jimmy McGinley, Glasgow and formerly of Glassagh, Gweedore. He passed away peacefully at home in Glasgow surrounded by his loving family.

Beloved husband of the late Mary, loving Dad of Gerard, Patricia, Mary, James, Pauline, Sean, Michael, Con, Martin and the late Mags; father in-Law to Tricia, Joe, John, Denise, Kitty, Louise and Brenda; granda of Maria, Joseph, Conor, Ciara, Aislinn, Aiden, Niall, Erin, Eoin, Mary-Kate, Monica, James, Eilish, Caitlin, Michael, Kian, Alannah, Orla, Niamh and Enya; greatgranda to Callah and Aiden; and brother to Patsy.

His remains will repose at Roarty’s Funeral Home, Derrybeg, F92 DN4X on Thursday from 3pm to 8pm, with Rosary at 8pm. Private removal following the Rosary to his home in Glassagh. House private to family only.

Funeral Mass will be held in St Colmcille’s Church, Knockfola, on Saturday, at 11am followed by interment in the adjoining cemetery. Mass can be viewed live on Kieran Roarty Funeral Directors Facebook page 

Andy Gillespie, Ballybofey

The death has occurred at Letterkenny University Hospital of Andy Gillespie, Dreenan, Ballybofey,

Beloved husband of Ellen, much loved father to Sharon, Jennifer, Martin and Drew, cherished brother of May, Johnny, Annie, Harry, Sheila, Anthony, Angela, and the late Liam, Eddie and Brendan. Deeply regretted and lovingly remembered by his wife, sons, daughters, sisters, brothers, grandchildren, nephews, nieces, extended family, and friends.

His remains are reposing at Mc Cool’s Funeral Home on Tuesday and Wednesday from 6pm concluding with Rosary at 9pm. Family time on the morning of the funeral please

Funeral leaving from there on Thursday at 10.30am for Requiem Mass in St Mary’s Church, Sessiaghoneill at 11am followed by interment in the adjoining churchyard. The Requiem Mass will be streamed live here  

Margaret Mc Bride, Milford

The death has taken place of Margaret Mc Bride, née Mc Laughlin, Main Street, Milford, Donegal, F92K5N4. She passed away peacefully at home in her 97th year.

Predeceased by her husband James, and her parents Margaret and Daniel, she is sadly missed by her loving family, Patrick, Danny, Brendan, Margaret, Michael, Anita and John, her sister Celia (Kerr), daughters-in-law Patrice, Jane, Mairéad, Louise and Paula, sons-in-law, Con and John, her 21 cherished grand children, sister-in-law Ann, nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.

reposal of her remains are reposing at her home on Tuesday, with Rosary at 9pm. Family time from 10pm and on the morning of the funeral.

Funeral Mass on Wednesday at 11am in St Peter’s Church, Milford. Burial will take place afterwards in Milford Cemetery. Mass can be viewed on Church Services TV St Peter’s Church Milford 

Bernard (Brian) Carr, Kilcar

The death has occurred of Bernard (Brian) Carr, Cruckcarra, Kilcar. He passed away suddenly but peacefully in Letterkenny University Hospital.

Predeceased by his parents John and Mary, brothers Seán, Francis and sister Kathleen; sadly missed by his sisters Mary Agnes, Bernadette and Goretti. Fondly remembered by his many nieces, nephews, grandnieces, grandnephews, his neighbours and friends.

His remains have been removed to his late residence. House strictly private at all times.

Funeral Mass will take place on Wednesday at 12pm in St Cartha’s Church, Kilcar, F94KA07, followed by private cremation in Lakelands Crematorium, Cavan.

Family flowers only please. Donations in lieu if desired to The Irish Cancer Society care of any family member or McShane Funeral Directors.

Anne Smet, Donegal Town, Longford and England

The death has taken place of Anne Smet, née Doherty, late of Donegal Town and formerly of St Albans, Hertfordshire, England and Granard, County Longford. 

Beloved wife of René, much loved mother to sons Richard (Beverley), Dean, daughters Deborah, Elaine (Sean); cherished sister of Mary, Susie, Phelim and Christy; dearly loved grandmother and great-grandmother. She is predeceased by her parents Marie and Felix, her sisters Maggie and Betty, her brothers Jack, Seamus, Alan and Gerry. Anne is deeply regretted and lovingly remembered by her husband, children, step-children, brothers, sisters, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nephews, nieces, extended family and many friends.

Family time on the morning of the funeral please.

Funeral leaving from Tír Conaíll Funeral Home, Donegal Town on Tuesday at 10.30am for Requiem Mass in St Patrick’s Church, Donegal Town at 11am, followed by cremation at Lakelands Funeral Home and Crematorium, Cavan, at 2.30pm approximately. The Requiem Mass will be streamed live via the Parish Webcam
